If you are asking for the initial approximation value, what i have mentioned with x0 and y0.. then you can start it with any value like 0,0.. 0.5,0.5...1,1.. etc. But the thumb rule says go with 0,0.. Tips to save the time in exam hall... if you can solve the equation by calculator or any other alternate solution.. do it and get the actual answer and then start by any near value.. suppose you are getting the actual root as 3.67 then better to go with starting value of 2.5 or 3..
