square root aprox method was grt..but in second ques as it as an aprox ques and we have already done too much aprox and also 132 and 18 are divisible by 6 we wont usualy go for division..direct simplification is easy but will give an ans 4106..which is not nearer to 3960..since other options are less than 3960 we are safe :D

In your step of first example,i.e 60^2 + 5.75,i understand 60^2 will become 60 as it is under square root,but why 5.75 was not under root ? It should be like, 60+(5.75)^1/2.. kindly reply to my query.
