Solve the Gear Ball: Easiest Beginner's Method (Only 2 Algorithms!)

Thank you so much! I finally solved it! I've had my gear ball for at least 3 years now, but when I would look up instructions (I was pretty much always wanting a website instead of a youtube video), they were too confusing for me. But it's solved now! (Hint to anyone watching: I really had to pay attention to what he was doing when he turned. For example, when he does "right", you have to move the bottom right corner to the top back corner.)

For everyone who is having trouble: check and make sure your gear centers are aligned. They can easily be thrown off.

I have a problem that I have four sides solved but the yellow and orange side aren't. The middle on the orange side is on the yellow side and the middle on the yellow side also mine locks up

It seems in the last step all the gears point in the same direction (on a line), up or down from left to right. Mine doesn't have that. What am I doing wrong?

This method works for me every time; I'm not sure why yours would be different. Does your gear ball look exactly like mine?

@@daniellee560 when you do the last algorithm of 4 times R, are the black lines on the gears pointing in the same direction, either up or down from left to right? Because in mine they are not.

@@MvanOsch-jc7efno, they will not all be pointing the same way. Just pick one that needs to be fixed and hold it like I do in the video and do the move. It will fix all of the black lines in that rows at the same time. If more need to be fixed, just follow the same method on that row as well. Hope that helps.

It could be that you are not making full turns; but I can't say for sure. Maybe go back to the video and study what the turns look like. I hope you get it figured out; don't give up - it will be worth the headache when you figure it out!

Pay close attention to how you should hold the ball; where the ones that are correct go and where the ones that are wrong go. It works, I promise!

@@Pikachu-Gaming22 If you're holding it correctly, make sure the u moves are clockwise and the r moves are clockwise (moving away from you) and it should work.
