I love JDM Subarus and have had many but almost all of them have a cold running stutter... so this was my problem to solve for today.

Adjust the maps on my 2017 Levorg and it fixed it. I adjusted 3 other maps that were the same. Thank! Just need to fix the rough idle at cold start now.

Cool 😎 The lambda sensor on jdms are slow to wake up so it could be that it's running a little lean until it does ..check with a wideband 👍

@@racedynamix which map would I add fuel to? There are 4 warm-up enrich maps. Enrich homogen TGV open and closed and Stratified TGV open and closed.

Yeah..warmup table in jdm is pretty lean as like they want to give time on slightly longer cold idle clearing snows on the car before start moving (in japan obviously) Meanwhile in malaysia we didnt have this issue from hotter climate... Apart if we were staying overnight on top of cold mountain with sub 20 degreeC temp in cold heavy rain morning...

Looking forward to this - my Forester STI does the same - only whilst gently pulling out of the end of the road, having been left overnight so stone cold.

JDM spec c, same problem (along with the GR stumble) I thought these were all issues with just my car! Looks like my tuner is getting another video 😂

This probably because japan imported cars are run on a 99 ron fuel base as opposed the uk 95 ron. High Ron protects against knock, so they are probably tuned leaner than uk cars.

Both target same 14.7 Afr. The warm up strategy is different 👍

yeah even with remapping on Ecutek, the warm up enrichment tables aren't shown so it is impossible. Only solution is aftermarket ecu I am afraid 👍

My UK blob STI likes to stall when cold, especially during the colder months. Can a lightened flywheel cause this, and can the map be adjusted to compensate? Or should I look elsewhere for the problem?

@@davidwills4898 Yeah def a light flywheel can cause that along with lighter pulleys. Raising the idle rpm normally gives a little more time for the ecu to react 👍

I can confirm my GRB JDM suffers this funnily enough. I give it a min to warm up or it’s jerky with a paddle clutch it’s a joke sir

Thanks for the video, I edited the maps. I'll try it in the morning to see if it helps. I have a 2017 Levorg with the 2.0 Dit. Apparently there is an issue with JDM model with rough idle when the car warming up.. Any idea how to correct the issue. Sounds like maybe too much fuel..

My jdm does this too. Why do Japan tables have these dips?

yeah it's weird... I can only put it down to laziness for the oe map creators.
