27 seconds in, he says something told hm to check the pond. I'm not an investigator, but the 1st place I would have checked was the pond. And how did the vehicle get in the pond without any tracks or anything? The whole story just seems to be fishy to me.
@SurnaturalMАй бұрын
I don't want to be impolite or anything, but on the picture, you don't look à day older than 35. (Do you have a trick?) 😅 Seriously, it's great for the family, and especially for their granddaughter who knew them well. Some who are found so long after they've disappeared don't have any living relatives anymore.
@SurnaturalMАй бұрын
@@xfobia1II don't know, that was 44 years ago. Maybe they just tought it was too small of a pond for a car to disappear in. I have a pond on my propriety, and 5 years ago We found a skidozer, (they use this to care after the snowmobile track here) We never thought it was deep enough to hide something like this. And for what we can see in the case here, it's accessible easily, there's a parking and an alley (small road) near by. So they might have thought it was too small of a pond for a car of that size to disappear in. (English isn't my language)

It's so sad because I can picture in my mind exactly how their lives probably ended. They get loaded up into the car to continue their journey back home, Mr. Romer THINKS he puts the car in reverse to back out of their parking spot, but he had accidentally put the car in drive instead (or vice versa). The car starts driving forward through the grass, which he wasn't expecting, and in a state of total panic he slams his foot down even harder on the gas pedal THINKING he is slamming on the brakes, and the car just accelerates faster and faster straight into the pond. Because of their advanced ages and the fact that they are both in a state of shock and confusion over what just happened, they simply have no chance to get out of the car before it sinks.

I know you guys did a search in South Bend for Johnathan Hamby. He was last seen February 2017 in Mishawaka at parents home. There are lots of retention ponds & a river in between Elkhart where he had a mentor. There is actually a huge retention pond at the corner to his parents house. He went missing when it was snowy and icy out in a bmw. North of there a woman went into a retention pond with her 3 children, 2 of them passed away, I believe the reason they found her is she called 911 while the suv was sinking. There have been other incidents of cars going into retention ponds in that area and they have been witnessed so help came right away.

Some form of closure is better than no closure whatsoever. Just having it hanging there, wide open, speculative with all that conjecture and supposition would be torment on a daily basis for the family. Not knowing exactly _how_ the circumstances lead up to their deaths is the other piece of the jigsaw. One day I believe the Lord God _will_ reveal _all_ truths to us and there will be no more mysteries about anything. May Charles and Catherine Romer R.I.P. 🌼🌼

If this was an accident then the $100,000 dollars of jewelry she was wearing should be found... and why would the bags of stuff still be in the room? Because we would assume that they went in [the pond] when they left... to continue their journey [and they] they would have taken everything and not left anything behind; especially somebody who had went through the Depression. But if they were just going out to eat.. then leaving a few things in the room would be normal. Did they return the room key...? So many questions... waiting for an update...

Good work guys!! Honestly, It is kinda crazy no one even thought to look at the pond when they went missing. It is like the detectives only thought foul play and ran with it, never once thought about they could have drive into the pond some how, also seems odd there were zero tire tracks leading into the pond especially since that was a heavy ass vehicle.

Does that thing you had on the water (red square thing ) will it go in culverts ? If so Sebastian Rodgers,Hendersonville,Tennessee. Where the tracking dog jumped in,but was removed and discontinued the search.This area should be checked out again because that pond is connected to multiple culverts.
