I tried the power button + volume up button and it didn't work. I tried taking the sim card and memory card out then pressed power button + volume up button and it didn't work. Then I pressed power button + power down button for 10 seconds and phone powered on. Android robot showed up after the Sony emblem..and I pressed power button again to continue to power up device. Hope that helps...

Flash your firmware using flashtool and it'll get solved. :)

Use Flashtool, it doesn't require your phone to be turned on, just download the stock firmware and push it to the phone, wait, and then restart the phone, done.

I have Xperia Z2, I tried everything.... vol up + power, vol down + power, red button plus power and vol up & down. Nothing works. When I plug in the charger, dim red light appears followed by Sony logo for 1 sec and then It goes dead again for 6/7 seconds and reapeats all over again. After plugging in the charger, when I press vol up + power button... then It vibrates once and thats it.... Nothing happens. when I release the buttons... again the Sony logo appears and goes dead... and the cycle continues :(

Return it when you can. Trust me. Mine z5 p has several problems and now it totally died after only 3 months of careful use. Although the phone is still in Warranty. I called SONY and they said they couldn't do anything or even schedule a repair. Basically, if your phone is not purchased from SONY store, no matter you have warranty or not. No matter where your warranty is form. Sony won't warranty it for you. I'm basically being suggested to throw the phone out and buy a new one. This is a good phone. But also an abandoned phone and brand.

Ok, my phone was frozen for 4 hours with only black glowing screen and led light on. Power button didn't respond at all or anything as a matter of fact. Worked for Sony Xperia M5. The phone had become inoperable and then the battery run flat as well and would not charge. No lights, no response on connection to charger. THANK YOU! My phone for some reason didn't want to unlock, despite my code never having changed, so I tried turning it off. It got stuck in the xperia loading screen for half an hour and I didn't know what to do! Doing this fixed the issue and I'm so glad I didn't have to go to a store to fix it or have to get a new phone yet!
