CASE DETAILS
AWP began our search for 66-year-old Annie Lee Hampton who was last seen October 10, 2019 in Marianna, Arkansas driving her 2001 Pontiac Grand Prix.
Starting our day at 9:00, Jacob Grubbs and his team met up with AWP to begin our search.
The first location searched was the river nearest her home with no success.
The second location was Bear Creek Reservoir where we were able to identify a vehicle 29' underwater using sonar.
Doug Bishop and Jacob Grubbs dove on the vehicle, pulling the Arkansas License plate 342 737 matching Miss Annie's missing Grand Prix.
The vehicle was upside down, 85' from shore, 29' underwater.
The local Sheriff, Police Department and State Park Rangers arrived on the scene and prior to 2 pm, through the efforts of all organizations working together, the vehicle in question was removed, confirming human remains inside which have now been confirmed as Miss Annie.
It is our honor to have brought Miss Annie Lee Hampton home.
Hug the ones you love for you never know when it might be the last time you see them.

@@Solamia7 It could be for the authorities but it can also be for the family. Their lost loved one was with the car and the family can no longer hold the person. For the family the license plate is emotionally connected to the missing person and they can physically hold the license plate or better said 'their lost loved one'

I'm from the UK and if someone is diagnosed with dementia they MUST inform the licensing authorities and the drivers insurers of there diagnosis. Both authorities will as most likely ask for a doctors report. failing to do this is a £1000 fine. but once you have past the stage of " onset dementia" there license WILL be revoked. Safety Comes First, for all.

I just found your channel earlier this week and have been catching up on all the videos. Thank you for what you do. My son had a "near-fatal" drowning at the age of 23 months old. He was revived that day but suffered from the permanent effects of the lack of oxygen to his brain. He developed epilepsy, cortical blindness and the ability to walk and talk and died 3 years ago (accidental drowning was listed as the cause of death on his death certificate, even after 11.5 years). Drownings are preventable and I appreciate all that you do to raise awareness to others to wear life jackets when on/ near the water. The services that you offer these families are invaluable. My heart goes out to Miss Annie's family. Hopefully with answers and being able to put her to rest will start to heal their hearts. ❤

This case is a prime example of how normal everyday people can get involved in the AWP movement by providing information about missing people in your community or state. Simply researching on the internet by a person who knew absolutely nothing of this cold case led to solving this case. You too can get involved with the AWP movement.

Living in the middle of two old folks homes these Dementia cases really hit home. The amount of times I find people wandering around and gotta lead them back home/inform the old peoples homes is staggering. And they always got a story and are very sure that this story is true, may it be a walk while staying at a hotel in town or having lost their home key. One thing I will say is: If you got dementia patients in the family, give the community an option an identifier on them, best case with contact details on it. After one of the old folks homes has started giving them out, it has become much easier to notice, reach out and resolve the situation.
@foramau

Please, can anybody explain to me why there are so many cases of those dementia patients have access to the car? I'm talking about especially the cases that AWP took care of
@MKCarol-ms7lg
@MKCarol-ms7lg 2 жыл бұрын
@@foramau Older folks often live alone and can seem less demented on just occasional visits from friends or family. They tend to talk about the more distant past making them seem quite sharp mentally. People don't realize they have lost the ability to access their short term memories. While driving they can get disoriented and 'lost' but also reorient pretty quickly and return to their route. Very possibly they don't share these events with anyone. Thus no one knows its time to step in and stop the driving ability.
@teijaflink2226
@teijaflink2226 2 жыл бұрын
Maybe she had early stage dementia where she was mostly fine but then had moments of confusion and disorientation. Not everyone realises that they shouldnt drive, perhaps not even family yet or can't tell no, it can take some time before a doctor takes away a license.
@foramau
@foramau 2 жыл бұрын
@@lauraa1583 thank you. But what desturbs me is that their relatives say it like they were diagnosed, so it is irresponsible to let them live alone and especially drive! What if they get confused and kill someone by driving to someone's home or something, not the lake
