I do very very much prefer and appreciate short videos actually. Seeing a 30+ minute video is both a joy and a pain at the same time. A joy because somebody took the time to discuss some topic in detail and a comfortable pace. A pain because I might not have the time right now to see it and will probably have to be postponed for later.

Good to know! You can also save the video to watch later if you can’t watch all. The thing is… this kind of simulation takes a lot of time, so I can either speed up and show only half of it, or detail it to make it simple to understand. I guess that’s a choice

Hi Cyprien! I had the same problem, and it continued to crash even when I installed latest NVIDIA driver (with Ubuntu preinstalled Additional Drivers application) because Salome Meca didn't understand which graphic card to use. I solved it by just typing __NV_PRIME_RENDER_OFFLOAD=1 __GLX_VENDOR_LIBRARY_NAME=nvidia ./salome_meca-lgpl-2021.0.0-0-20210601-scibian-9 instead of just ./salome_meca-lgpl-2021.0.0-0-20210601-scibian-9 when running the program each time. Thank you for all your useful videos!

Hi Cyprien, thank you so much for your step-by-step videos on Salome Meca 2021 installation. I am getting the same mesa errors with graphic issues when running a study or mesh on Salome Meca 2021, but I do not know how to verify if I have a misconfigured graphic card. When I run settings/about I get Graphics as virgl. Note that I run my ubuntu on Parallels virtual machine installed on a mac. When I run mac/about I get graphics as Radeon Pro 560 4 GB. So, if there is anything you can do to help me out, I will appreciate it very much!

If you run Salome in a virtual machine, I am not sure if you can run it with graphic card. Try to see how your Parallels software handles the graphic card first, then if you can configure Ubuntu in a virtual machine to use that graphic card… but I have some doubts. In my opinion, you probably can’t… so you can either ignore those error messages or you can install the previous Salome Meca Version 2019 which will work better.
