Is there a way to access command prompt If OS Is not booting ? I was trying to dual boot windows 10 on an old dell inspiron ..but ran into a black screen after I made the partition I extracted the Windows 10 OS to...Can it be foxed without a CD USB...I just want to make that partition INACTIVE via command prompt but f8 not working either...HELP!!!

If none of this work. Do this. It worked for me. "If Windows 10 fails to boot normally three times over, the fourth time it enters by default in an Automatic Repair mode. Using this mode, you can boot into Safe Mode. To trigger the Automatic Repair mode, you must interrupt the normal boot process three consecutive times: use the Reset or the Power button on your Windows 10 PC to stop it during boot, before it finishes loading Windows 10. If you use the Power button, you might have to keep it pressed for at least 4 seconds to force the power off. When Windows 10 enters the Automatic Repair mode, the first thing you see is a screen that tells you that the operating system is "Preparing Automatic Repair." If there is no previous version of windows.Then just reset(system restart) your pc but keep the files. That way all the software will be removed including the virus. N.B:Your windows will install again. All your software will be removed in this process.

Nothing helped me with my dell n5050... Until I tried your tips with bios update. I downloaded A05 bios and updated A04 dell n5050 to newer one. Now it works as it should - new life for my laptop. thank you

I think i found something. Disconnect your Mouse and Your Keyboard. Now you should probably have a configuration menu of some sorts. Search around a bit and you should be able to reset it to normal. (Plug your Mouse and Keyboard in after the Menu showed up). Then it should work.

The easy way out to get out of the black screen is: If you able to get XPS 13 machine hook-up onto an external monitor, then, 1. Go to Device Manager or Control Panel 2. Under Display Adapter - Right Click and hit Disable Device 3. Hit Restart 4. You can see your XPS screen again. Good Luck.

none of the black screen fixes on KZbin worked for me.. here's what worked in my case. after getting the task manager open i went to "run new task" then i used the "browse" button. that in turn shows the file explorer. i right clicked on a random folder, "open in New window".. made my way to the control panel, network, enabled the wifi.. as soon as the wifi connected my desktop came back instantly. this was on my laptop btw

Mine doesn’t even get past the boot screen, it would just not open leaving a light notification. But after an hour of not using it it will turn on and work just fine. It has an erratic pattern and you can’t tell when it will happen. Usually happens when you become idle (like grabbing a coffee or something). It never happens when your doing something. This only happened after I updated windows from stock.

NO--- My Dell E 6540 goes to a black screen while running. All of a sudden the screen goes black then after about 45 seconds goes back to the boot screen then the sign in screen.. Then I click on the sign in icon and BOOM it all comes back on to the last pages I had opened... HELP

I could only use my laptop by hooking it up to my television screen to be able to see it. My laptop screen would show images up until I tried to open any application and then it would just go black. Like I could see my log in screen on my laptop and my background once logging in, but as soon as I would go to open the internet, my documents, or any application, the screen would just go black. I was about to take it in somewhere and pay god knows how much to have someone fix it. But this seems to have fixed it perfectly! Thank you! I was getting so frustrated with this problem!

But before the problem started , with many attempts on clicking the power button, I was able to turn on my laptop and it did started. Mine was stuck in black entirely. Through trial and error, I figured out that the CPU cooler was screwed on too tightly. Strangely, the desktop system would act as if it had started but would stay blacked out on any monitor I hooked it to. A half counter-clockwise turn solved the issue. Hope this helps someone.

Alex Andersen to do a hard reset just hold down the power button until it was off and turn it on while you hold down f11 on the keyboard and then a recovery screen will pop up and just follow the steps on a reset

Connect a VGA cable between your VGA connector in your laptop and VGA in monitor display, you can use the same method for an HDMI cable.

Hello. If this video is still relevant id really love some help for me. I updated my RX 560 gfx drivers from the AMD site. It was installing fine but suddenly a black screen just appeared. I left it on for 2 hours but still nothing. When i try to restart my pc it just shows the motherboard picture followed by the loading circle and then the circle vanishes and im left with a black screen. I can just enter my BIOS. Nothing else. Specs: A8 7600 RX 560 2gb 4GB ddr3 Asus Motherboard FM2+ 1TB hd Acer monitor plugged by a DVI-D cable. Please help :(

My solution? When this happens, manually power off the machine (holding the power button down for 5 seconds or until the system shuts down) then simply powering the computer back up. Voila; it loads right into Windows and will work perfectly. Apparently there is no official fix for this, but it is a Windows bug as it happens across multiple systems (I've seen videos for Dell's, HP's, Lenovo's, etc,). Save yourself the time and hassle of potentially losing all of your data with a simple 5 second fix. All you have to do is avoid clicking "Restart." If the system forces a restart, wait for it to restart, as soon as it boots up, hold the power button down for 5 seconds until the system powers off, then power the system back on. If it sends you to the Windows Repair screen or what have you, just click the "Continue to Windows 10" or however it's worded. If you haven't tried this method, give it a go and let me know your results.

EasyTechs I found the problem ... First I removed the battery and put on charging and then start my laptop .. after that my laptop had started... So try this on also.. I think this is battery related issue..
