A few years ago when I was finishing my degree at a State school in Indiana, I questioned why I hadn't been awarded Work Study. I was perplexed when I was told because the $3000 Stafford Loan met me the rest of my financial need, but I could decline it and get a work study award. I wish I would have known that before my fourth year! There's no interest rate on work study!!!

All this does is make me question WHEN IN GODS NAME are women not more in politics? We're definitely slowly creeping in. But Good God. Women like this make a world of change.

Skyla Shanell Hello! I've started the petition "The president elected in 2016: change campaign finance" and need your help to get it off the ground. Will you take 30 seconds to sign it right now? Here's the link: www.change.org/p/the-president-elected-in-2016-change-campaign-finance Here's why it's important: Corporations and special interest groups were already in control of our government before "citizen united" was enacted. Since the law passed the control has become overwhelming. If we elect a new president based on overturning "citizens united", we will be the losers. Nothing will change, the lobbyists will still have control of our government. The politicians don't have much choice. If they don't get big money, they lose the election. If they do take the money, they are owned by the donors. If one man gives you a million dollars or a hundred thousand people give you ten dollars who would you choose to listen to? Every four years the news media brings in nearly two billion dollars not including local elections. They don't care what is said, how often it’s said, or if its true. They simply want the money. The Supreme Court is out of control. Who honestly thinks corporations are people? That is the main reason things are so messed up today. President Obama received over sixty million votes. I suspect all those people are trying to make this country what it should and could be. If all those voters supported this petition, we can make this type of change. It is not going to be easy because politicians will oppose the change. Please take action and sign it today. If you think this is a waste of time, please consider what is at stake. It is time to roll up your sleeves and do what you can to make this change a success. If you believe in the separation of church and state, maybe you are also in favor of separation of corporate power and the government. Petition On Political Contributions Private or corporate owned business may not contribute to any Federal, State, or local government election in the United States. All for profit or nonprofit organization may not contribute to any Federal, State, or local government election in the United States. Any business or organization may campaign and advertise for any candidate they choose provided they have polled the shareholders or organization members, and have at least a 50% majority by secret ballot approving their choice. They will be required to show proof that they have done so and disclose the name of the organization they represent when advertising. There must also be a $2,500 limit for personal contributions. This amount should be tied to the rate of inflation. When the federal government passes this and it’s made law if the Supreme Court rules it unconstitutional we also request an amendment to the constitution. It shall read as followed. A newly elected president shall have a onetime opportunity to replace three Supreme Court justices. He may replace any three at his discretions. They must be confirmed or denied by the United States Senate within 30 calendar days of submission. You can sign my petition by clicking here. Thanks! James Brown

Get involved. Vote, research you candidates. Inform your friends on how these elected officials affect your lives. The businesses and banks control things because we have elected officials that let them. Good luck in life!

At 11:30, Warren says something kind of incredible...credit scores are used to determine employment suitability...on or Suzi Orman's selling points for her comically horrific "Approved Card"...but this claim appears to be demonstrably false...Ms. Warren making a false statement similar to Ms Orman...are they both just stupid on this, or...?
@LD-tn6ff5 жыл бұрын
Greg Grummer what are you talking about? Of course employers check credit scores for employment eligibility... This isn’t a nationally banned practice by any means. Are you stupid? Do you really think you know more than one of the nations leading experts on these issues? Elizabeth warren is absolutely correct on this.

EmbracingElevation that’s convenient. Maybe instead ask yourself why literally no one was vying for a sanders presidency prior to 2016, despite having been in government for decades? Elizabeth warren was far more popular in the progressive movement resulting from being more vocal and effective - and she only got into politics in 2012. I don’t at all support a candidate simply because they spent tens of millions in marketing and advertising a populist message that had already been born out of the occupy wall street movement, primarily led by warren. I don’t see sanders accomplishing any of his proposals, which lack nuance, detail, and strategy. This exact reason is why he’s been so ineffective at true reform over the last several decades.

@LD-tn6ff5 жыл бұрын
Mike mkgta how though... she can lap many times over, every other candidate currently running when it comes to financial and economic reform. I personally think it’s far more superficial for an extremely old politician to sit in elected office for thirty years, unknown on the national stage because he accomplished nothing significant in terms of reform, only to turn around and spend tens of millions marketing himself as a “revolutionary” to young people who are simply to ignorant to have ever heard of a populist politician before. If you’re unknown by the general public for any accomplishments given a 30 platform of power, you’re not going to be the change we need to see starting for the first time at the ripe age of 80. The fact Elizabeth warren accomplished more in reforming this particular sector as a mere professor than these other candidates ever did in power is the EXACT reason I’ll be voting for her. And considering her messaging, and fight has remained consistent for far longer than she was ever vying for voters, or involved in politics, I’d hardly conclude she’s corrupt, or disingenuous.

@LD-tn6ff5 жыл бұрын
Kevin Poole ya... are you condemning Elizabeth warren for not being able to do this as a mere college professor at the time? Not only did she predict the crisis two years before it happened and tried extensively to warn/prevent it. She literally created an institution as just a professor that returned BILLIONS and BILLIONS of dollars to wronged consumers, and set a precedent in oversight practice that didn’t exist before. Then when republicans blocked her from running the CFPB to full capability, she ran for the senate to spite them, and continue fighting for reforms and protections. She’s literally been twice as knowledgable, vocal, effective, and willing to fight for these changes than any other person you can possibly name at this point in time, particularly when it comes to our elected officials. Feel free to think the CFPB is a joke, but it’s certainly a first step, and certainly not professor Warrens fault. Maybe try blaming our corrupt elected officials who are actually trying to wreak havoc on America’s middle and working class.
