✅ Please keep in mind, there are different strategies to solve percent problems. This video focuses on using the percent equation which can be used to set up multiple types of percent problems. We may need to find the percent, the whole amount, or the part depending on the situation, so the equation can help us organize the problem and solve. Solving percent problems without the equation is an option as well. Do whatever works best for you! This is just another option for us to use. ✅ For #1 in the first section (finding the whole), remember, 0.80 is equivalent to 0.8. I chose to use 0.8 because it gives us less digits to have to work with. Using 0.80 would work as well. Could you help with Mixture Problems in Algebra? This is a very specific math problem but I am only typing it so that you may know what I mean. Tom wants to mix a dip containing 5% horseradish with one containing 20% horseradish to obtain a 24oz dip containing 10% horseradish. How many ounces of the 5% dip should he use? Absolutely! I completely agree, this is a common and great strategy for percent problems. I saw you commented this on another video of mine, but I figured I'd reply here as well. There are different approaches to percent problems, so use whatever works best for you! I'm actually making a video covering this strategy as well. It will be coming soon.
