Yes, between this and Heaven’s Vault, it seems like "glyphs that are at least semi-logographic, with same SVO word order that English speakers know, but simplified grammar like a lot of créoles" is The Way To Go for these. You’d need a completely different (and likely complicated) game to try to gamify something like Basque.

After I did the first one I realized some people might want tags for who says what. It does take a wee bit more effort to make sure each line is correct but I think people will find it useful. @NWolfsson Жыл бұрын
It's a bit sad that the game doesn't let you keep custom words once you confirm them (I get that when you've got a whole sentence it's a custom re-write because you get the grammar, but we could have the word-for-word in addition to that, and the option to use our own word for the word-for-word) I was having so much fun using things like "Monstaah" for monster, and getting it confirmed got me a little sad because it loses that silliness :')

You could do a Murphy bed in that room. My parents did that recently and it works nicely since they don't have people sleeping over often. You can put fully mounted art on the outside/underside. I think my mom changes the sheets and then folds in up with the sheets on it. It's actually really comfortable (they went for a memory foam mattress since it is more comfortable and folds nicely. Unfortunately, a premade Murphy bed is kinda pricey, but if you are feeling ambitious, you can buy a kit with just the hardware and cut + paint the wood frame yourself. Holy shit that computer is huge, it's basically the height of the table!

I like how the devotee language uses set symbols to modify their glyphs, like underline for actions, curve on the left for tools, a box for places, and the person symbol plus other symbols to distinguish between different people. Glyphs with the same root symbols: Opening + action = to open, opening + tool = key Helping + action = to help, helping + tool = potion Speech + action = to talk, speech + person = preacher Eye + action = to see, eye + tool = lens Devotion + person = devotee, devotion + place = church Death only = death, death + place = cemetery Plant only = plant, plant + tool = pot, plant + place = garden Music only = music, music + tool = instrument The abbey glyph is an interesting one. 2x up/great inside a box, possibly meaning "greater place". I would imagine that if they had a glyph for the warriors' "chosen", it would be music + person.
@Quintinohthree Жыл бұрын
There is, somewhere in the game a trilingual where fortress (the warrior's place) is translated into Bard and we see a glimpse of a fragment in Devotee which looks like the symbol which compounds with man/human to form warrior (which I suppose may mean "war") inside the symbol for place, so it seems the Devotees do indeed know the place above the Warriors' door as "war-place".
@Quintinohthree Жыл бұрын
Of course, the devotees aren't shy with music themselves, so it seems more likely that to them music + person would mean musician, and it wouldn't really matter if that musician was a bard or a devotee because both make music just the same.
