The format that we need to have is ax²+bx+c. To that, Sir first needed to combine or rearrange the like terms on the left side of the equation. What he next did was combine 2x and another 2x, which equals 4x

In this part, we needed to figure out what the square root of 20 was. We cannot find the answer just by thinking of squares (e.g. square root of 64 is 8 since 8x8=64) so we need to do prime factorization, which is as follows. 20< *5* • 4< *2* • *2* . So what we need to do is collect the primes which are the 2 twos (2²) and 5. So now we put our primes inside the radical sign which has an index of two (if you don't see the number two floating outside, it's because it's considered) ²√ (2²)(5) Since 2²'s exponent is 2 which is the same as the radical sign's index (2), we cancel the exponent and bring the base 2 outside the radical sign. *2√5*
