@patrickJMT, this video is excellent for a few reasons. The set up in the beginning is extremely well done, you showed examples of different types of rational inequalities, and you described the general process of how we go about solving them before you even started your example. It felt like we were all on the same page before we got into the meat of the problem. Thank you so much.

Wait.... but for the last problem, why is it bad for the top part to equal to zero? Wouldnt that still make it true, since zero is equal to zero, and the sign says greater than or EQUAL to?

Hello sir, i have done lots of problems using both method of finding the associated equation then solving using this method then intervals where i have understand the intervals whether open or close but since using that method to bring fractions towards one side and then finding P(x)=0 and Q(x)=0 (those points) so here i didn't understand whether intervals would be open or close . Thanks : Regards Ahmed

On that last problem, would you end up multiplying that x in the bottom denominator out? You have x(x+1); would x^2 +x be more difficult or not matter at all? I'm just wondering if there's a reason you didn't.

I have one question: I was always taught when you had an equation that has a "Greater or Equal to" sign you shaded in the dot, but on your second example you left it open meaning "Stricter Than", you explain it as being "undefined" how did you figure that out? Thanks so much in advance!

I got that -1 ,0 ,1 are not equal to or less than zero but infinity is . I have 2 questions 1)if -1,0,1 does not satisfy the equation then why do we just write them in solution set ,and if we write them then why 1 is opened with this bracket ? ' ] '
