One time I came home and was struggling with a formula for physics. I asked my dad, who was an engineer, what the hell was going on. He looked at it and asked, "What are toubteying to solve for"(the final temp of mixing two liquids). He said use this formula instead. I showed the teacher.. he double-checked that it was a better rearrangement of the same logic, and the teacher quickly announced, "ok, Rob is gonna be teaching the class today... so I did. Here I am 25 years later trying g to catch up again

my math teacher was explaining why you could randomly pick 2 points from a line in a line graph to calculate the gradient, and she was speaking for 20 mins and i still didnt understand and then when my friend taught me he literally said the most simplified thing in the world..... he said from across the class, "It's because it will always give you the same answer". My teacher was so happy and she was like, "Yes, FiNALLY", And i was in my mind thinking, " The fuck woman...you could have just said that 30 fucking minutes ago when you were fucking replying to my friends on why they could randomly pick 2 points..." DO YOU KNOW ENGLISH?!?! SIMPLIFY IT!!

Hi, first of all i would like to thank you for this video, it IS really helpful for those who are struggling with how to use the table method to solve rational inequalities. I used your type of solving method for the table method to solve for my homework. My lecturer said there was inconsistency in my work.. the thing is... how? i had a really long talk with him and i was really upset afterwards. The thing is, he said to follow the majority and i was surprised because math is a universal language which can be solved in MANY different ways. And now my grade is at stake..again, thank you.
@MySecretMathTutor4 жыл бұрын
Unfortunately there are some instructors who take the view that there is only one way to perform certain task. Even simple operations like multiplication can be done in a variety of ways. Keep working hard, and don't be afraid to seek out other ways. When your grade is at stake, sometimes you just have to go with the flow, but never stop searching for others ways as well. :^D

When solving this rational equation can I combine like terms, and set to "0" after this step (mid way through the problem): 5x-10 ≥ 4x-12 x+2 ≥ 0 x ≥ -2 Also, can I use x-3 ≥ 0 and x-2 ≥ 0 in order to test my additional points ? x ≥ 3 , x ≥ 2 sorry If I made this more complicated.

At 11.10 how come you couldn't cancel out the (x-2) and (x-3) ? Thanks
@yosef63255 жыл бұрын
Hi, an answer 5 years later, because why not, haha. You don’t want to cancel anything in the denominator as it’s used to find the intervals (ex, in this case x=3, x=2 isn’t defined).
