Just clicked on the video. Haven’t gotten into any real film yet but I already have my 3 favorite prospects. Kaleb Johnson, Kenneth Grant and Derrick Harmon. I think Kaleb would fit PERFECTLY in Arthur’s offense but never mind that, the kid has serious All-Pro potential and is a smooth explosive big back. Grant is a NT but can play DT in nickel and is one helluva run stopper. And Harmon is a classic Steelers 3-4 DE as far as height/weight/length.

My opinion for top 5 areas of need. CB, DL specifically NT, RB, WR, Slot CB. Hoping the Steelers could get Kenneth Grant, Caleb Johnson, and a top CB. Do you think the Steelers could get a 2nd and a 4th via trading of GP14? Or any other ways to boost their draft capital?

Dude beanie bishop was solid all year did he have trouble ya but he was undrafted rookie he is the answer at slot corner now if we don't sign Jackson back then u could say outside corner would be a need we struggled but minkah was sadly main dude to blame for backfield not being with it he was not his self this year

*Not trading WR George Pickens. Why?? B/c with 1 year left in contract he can "prove it" in 2025 and the Steelers could also work long term contract or franchise tag after 2025. Pickens talent, the overall skill set is Tier-1 with the likes of Jamar Chase, Jefferson, and Ceedee Lamb. It's not just the crazy body control and the way he attacks the ball at the highest catch point, it's Pickens making the 1st man miss in open field with the threat of taking it to the house with every touch. Not many in the NFL have that ability. He flashed it in the Playoffs vs Ravens with the TD along the sidelines, splitting 2 DB's and scoring the TD. Pickens left the NFL in yards per catch in 2023 and led the NFL in homeruns/explosive plays of 20+ yards. That's not even counting the 200+ yards and 3 TDs taken away from Pickens on some bogus calls from the refs that were not indicative of the actual play. Pickens has AB + Martavis Bryant type ability all in one* *But when a Defense plays 2-High with a Safety over the top to take away Pickens. Defenses use double-coverage or bracket Pickens and take him away pre-snap and post-snap b/c there is no threat at the WR2 position or Zero threat of a run game. Even still Pickens still makes plays and wins his matchups with the Defense taking him away or making the #1 main player to take away or focus on*

I don't understand why the Steelers value versatility on defense so much when they don't do versatile things with their defensive players? They need a 1/0 tech DT.

I’ve loved watching Egbuka and think he’d be great on the Steelers but are he and Roman kinda redundant? I think Egbuka is a better player and will be better outside than Roman but will they shy away from him because of that?

Great stuff. Two questions for you-- (1) What is it about Jaylen Warren that doesn't make him a good fit for outside zone... he's got good speed and vision? (2) I think Cory Trice is a very good cb (especially in press man). Do you agree? Why aren't the coaches showing that support (drove me crazy that he wasn't playing and that Donta Jackson was in Ravens game, especially b/c the game plan seemed to involve more man, which (on a good day - no back issues) is not Jackson's strength....

I have been saying need 1 is 0 tech for like 5 years. Not necessarily need to use a 1st on it, but when I was taught football the 0 tech winning was critical to how a 34 works. Seems like its even more important in the days of lighter boxes. Also, I dont know how fixed our OL is with 2 unknowns at T and RG, with LG aging out soon. I wonder if we go back to it again if the right guy is there. Why not take a guy like Aireontae Ersery and say 3 guys compete for Tackle spots, the last goes inside. Also it would mean T injury gets a T and not Spencer Anderson.

I just stopped and watched a little Caleb Johnson tape and I must say: Maybe we should be looking at a few of the lineman on that Iowa squad. He was getting 8-10 yards up the field before being touched. Not sure how that will translate for him at the next level

FWIW: he was 2nd in the country behind Ashton Jeanty in yards after contact. Their OL was good but he was elevating an offense without much help.

I might be galaxy braining a little early in the process, but I see a great pocket of DTs and CBs at the end of the first going into the top of the second. Thoughts of trading down, and using that acquired draft capital from trading down along with Pickens, to get a stud DT and CB?

Trading down is always great in theory but you dont know who will be on the board until it happens in real time. They could use a few more bites at the apple but need impact players.

In a RB loaded class what guys would now be on the table for Pittsburgh that they wouldn’t necessarily consider if Smith is back?

I like Nick's RBs. I totally agree with Tuten and Hunter. Kaleb is good but he had a very good run blocking o line in Iowa and we dont. Hunter and Tuten were not getting as many holes as Johnson. But he is a beast. top steelers needs to me are: 1. rb: hunter and monangai ( I think we get a Najee and Jaylen replacement as insurance.) 2. WR 1/2: SAVION williams, Jack Bech, and or Tre WILLIAMS. Contested catch specialists and both TCU wideouts offer positional flexibility. Savion is a Patterson replacement and Bech can play H back/TE. 3. CB2: man cover corner. jahdae and morris/morrison. 4. Safety/nickel: not sure 5. DT: Not sure

NO Milroe, if you got Fields... I would trade our 1st round pick 4th to Minnesota for JJ McCarty if Sam Donald signs a deal with them... We can get second round pick for Pickens to make up for the 4th round pick loss... Then we could double did at WR and have a QB ... NOTE, Minnesota only have 3 picks in this coming draft...Yes, get Golden with one of those second round picks.. Sign T.Higgins to go with McCarty and Golden and still have a second round pick to get DL or CB...

@EAZYSEESALL isn't that the risk you take with every draft...? Our team needs a young guy to grow with the young O-Line...McCarty is a better prospect then any QB in this draft.... He went in the 1st we give up a 1st...The 4th pick is only incentive because they only have 3 picks this year, but if they just do a pick swap first pick for a first pick then consider it to be just a first round draft pick right.. Steelers don't need to sign ANY VETERAN other then Fields, because the offense is being built...We don't have all the pieces in place to pay a guy more then 10-12mil.. Fields refuses to learn that's what Nick foles and Andy Dalton said in Sport Illustrated about his refusal to be focus on film study...He doesn't have the drive to be great...Jayden Daniel does 2hrs on a virtual reality headset that is designed to let QBs set the actual game while the coordinator can switch up the Defense sets while he learns everything..It helps big...Why Fields take his own money and learn after the season because he believes just his talent is good enough...Look up that Jayden Daniel piece on KZbin...He started it at LSU and it worked BIG..McCarty learned under Jim Harbaugh for 3 years and won a Championship as Michigan's QB...take the risk and they ran a Play Action offense like the Steelers do now..
