Keep up the good work. Without any redstone knowledge I made a super unconventional redstone calculator once based off of weird game features because I didn’t understand binary jargon. lol! i thought you might find that interesting because you do a lot of unconventional redstone on your channel, and I am a big fan! If you want to store every armor piece, as opposed to every combination, you would only need 25 x 25 x 6 = 3750 armor stands, which is a much tamer number.

Can you place armor stands with redstone? You can put armor on with a dispenser, but as far as I know, you have to break it to get the armor back off

@missingbolt851711 ай бұрын
Honestly , while I'd never go out of my way to build the full contraption-- you have given me an idea of how I wanna display my armor sets- if I collect them all that is haha ((still on the fence about coming to that project)) The idea would be to have a hallway lined with modified versions of the second to last design. The slim boi. And fill each of them up with all of the patterns/armors of one trim color.
@missingbolt851711 ай бұрын
Or I could flip it so each column is for a different trim and I can then rotate the colors
@squibble11111 ай бұрын
That sounds like a good idea. Although the hyper dense cycler is kinda a bad way to see the armor stands because it blends them all together. There are many other designs
@missingbolt851711 ай бұрын
Oh I meant using it to contain and rotate them! , then using a different system to knock them in and out of it into the display. I'm also not worried about a ui , was just gonna rotate them all manually (:

@wChris_11 ай бұрын
you actually can store every possible combination there exist, by simply just storing every armor piece with every trim and material. And when it comes to displaying those pieces, you just pick a random armor piece for every type, and then dispense them on an armor stand. After you are done you can destroy the armor stand with an arrow and collect all the pieces and the neat part is that if you collect all the pieces in the same tick it will have a consistent ordering. In contrast there are only 2750 unique armor pieces as we dont care about every armor combination.
@wChris_11 ай бұрын
Here is how i calculated all of it: There are 11 different armor trims and 10 different material you can make them out of. There are also 6 different armor materials you can apply them to totaling in 660 different armor trim combinations for each armor type. Actually for the Helmet there is another material you can apply armor trims to: scout (Turtle Helmet). This gives 770 different armor trim combinations, but only for the helmet. In total there are 3 * 660 + 770 = 2750 different unique armor trim combinations. This is if we are not including dyed leather armor, but if we include those, there are 12,326,391 possible dye combinations. So in total that would be 12,326,398 * 11 * 10 = 1,355,903,780 helmet combinations and 12,326,397 * 11 * 10 = 1,355,903,670 combinations for the other armor types so including dyed leather armor there are 5,423,614,790 different unique armor trim combinations. This excludes all the duplicates from the number of combinations you showed in the video, but thats what the system is for, randomly picking from each armor type, one of the armor trim combination.

Could you not just add the request to the remainder to get the intended destination? So if you were on Stand 4 and wanted to go to Stand 8 you take the request 8 and add it to the cycler remainder 60 so that it cycles once plus 4 more. Or if you could just make it cycle the excess of 64 to make it faster.

Wait, can't you just use a stack separator, put the armor stands temporary elsewhere until the right one is found? This would also allow you to have a more compact system and input the index number instead of the interval to current armor stand. Love your videos, thank you.

1:00 To be exact there is 990,904,320,000 combinations (990 billion, 904 million, and 320 thousand) Edit: No idea where they got that massive number from, I believe that I did my math correctly, but I might be wrong Edit2: It looks like I forgot colored leather armor... so yeah, that's why. According to someone on reddit there are 12,326,391 possible colors for leather armor. Here is the math: combinations of helmets = 16 trims * 10 materials * 7 types of helmets = 1120 combinations of chest plates = 16 trims * 10 materials * 6 types of chest plates = 960 combinations of leggings = 16 trims * 10 materials * 6 types of leggings = 960 combinations of boots = 16 trims * 10 materials * 6 types of boots = 960 combinations total = 1120 * 960 * 960 * 660 or 1120 * 960 ^ 3 = 990904320000 with commas that is 990,904,320,000 or 990 billion, 904 million, and 320 thousand
