You can build a new cutter using bearing , there are many tutorial on youtube , it produce no noise while it cut pet bottle into filament .
@Creative3DP Жыл бұрын
Yes you're right, but you have to put more effort than just getting bearings as you have sharp the edges of those bearing and appropriate nuts size and hard surface/base. While this one is easy, 3D Print and put a blade to make it work

I agree. It is better to cut the stripes first, in a separate process. It is easy and fast. And if something goes wrong... just throw away that broken stripe... plenty of plastic bottles. Would you mind sharing some info on the thickness of the bottles and the required width of the strips? I have read the 0.15mm thickness requires 10mm wide strips. But when I do that, my filament is too thin and the extruder of my Ender3v2 can't push it down the bowden tube.. it slips. Any advice? thanks, chriV

I also encountered a slipping issue which was caused by the extruder. I suggest upgrading to a dual gear extruder and increasing the strip size. In my experience, I usually Strip 2 Litre coca cola bottle with 12mm strip,

@@Creative3DP Interesting... Is 12 mm not too wide for the hot-end of the filament-maker? I've been thinking to feeding it 2x6mm stripes in parallel, but I have not tested that yet.
@Creative3DP Жыл бұрын
Well, I would recommend you to test with different strip size as bottle's wall thickness may vary. Feeding 2 strips at same time is not very efficient and may not work as the hotend is just enough to give round shape to PET Strip.
