I did an escape room for the first time with my friends, it was a 4 person thing. My buddy is searching the bottom lockers and I tell him "watch your head" as that gets his attention of course he lifts his head and BANG! I'm impressed at the amount of puzzles they had in a space that wasn't theirs. It was incredibly fun to watch, especially around the 20 min mark where everyone devolved into a certain type of escape room player: the frantic Sherlock "mind-palace" Holmes, the struggling assistant that collects everything they can, the ceaseless staring one who can't stop looking at new/old clues for more clues, and the one who just stands there and gives up all hope.

Well technically an escape room can be any scenario where you have a limited amount of time to solve the puzzle and leave before whatever it is that limits you approaches. Most of the time it's some "explosive" or death-trap thing that you gotta stop but end up solving the mystery in the process. In this one, they clearly stated in the beginning that the purpose was to get out before the cops finished the barricade, i.e. escape the room after you get what you came for in the set time, i.e. an escape room. I don't think they messed anything up. Rather, I'm impressed at the amount of puzzles they had in a space that wasn't theirs.
