Mr. puzzle I just want to say I love your approach, I was watching one of those maze puzzles by you earlier and the way you mapped it out on the grid paper was amazing...I love the way you applied physics whenever possible just by studying the movement of outside components... as well as the feel when you move the puzzle around... you try to keep from just fidgeting through the puzzle blindly as much as possible and I like that...keep up the good content brother!

I designed a Chinese sliding puzzle, based on the late Bruce Viney's "impossible odds" with 6 sliders and 6 paths per slider, 15 steps to solve. The combinations possible, several billion I believe, make it more of a combination lock than a reasonable puzzle to solve. Can be 3d printed as well, never considered going into small production of them... also, combination key pathways can be changed! Would you be interested in me sending you a free one Mr. Puzzle? Also, I love your puzzle demos, so many great design ideas, Thank you for making these videos.

@@Josiah1221 He was an incredible designer. I only bought 2 of his designs, and got busy, but loved watching his youtube videos of his next creation! Also thought his old school tattoos were awesome! I believe those designs are kinda copyrighted-ish, at least in a morality sense,... but I don't think his son or daughter are going to start his site up again. Would be great to have someone honor his memory, and get permission from his son or daughter, and offer those designs for free. The daughter mentioned she would look for the Tplan files, and send specific ones if requested... but for the impact Bruce had on the DIY puzzle community, he should be remembered. Id certainly be more than happy to setup a website that offered his content and continue his namesake in some way. The way-back machine has some archived data: web.archive.org/web/20150206032836/homepage.ntlworld.com/bruce.viney/index.html

@@Reach3DPrinters I completely agree! I really wish his children would continue or at least preserve his legacy. He was an incredibly talented man. I was very saddened when I found out he passed away. Once the site went down I thought those files were lost for good. Thankfully though I know someone who has most of all of Bruce's Tplans. He owns the site Bhpenlaser.com from which I got most of all my puzzle box kits from. I have the Tplans for all of my boxes I received from him. You can contact him from the website and share your interest in preserving Bruce's legacy. I know who would be happy to hear from you.

@@Josiah1221 Yeah, I was also hit by it. I didn't realize how much inspiration he gave me with his website resources, encouragement and free designs. I don't think his kids realize the impact he had on an entire generation of diy woodcraft makers. I am certain many 1000s if not 10s of 1000s were inspired and learned because of him. Ill take a look at Bhpenlaser.com and consider what could/should be done and then send them a note.

This puzzle has one major flaw and that is the 3d printing artefacts. Because of them my initial approach would have been to put the top and bottom at the top and bottom, always spin it around a little bit and then try to push it from the different sides. If that doesn't work just turn it around, try it again and you're done.

The axe of the outer shell and the axe of the inner ball are not parallel. So without understanding how the Gyrotwisty works you will get to nowhere. @@sinom
@sinom
@sinom 5 жыл бұрын
@@dn8644 well I'm not sure they aren't parallel. Everything I saw in the video suggests they are. All of the different levels of the pattern end evenly at a layer of the 3d print. It might also just be that I'm unable to see it correctly because of youtube compression. If they really are off though that shouldn't make it too much more difficult to take apart. The solution he had at the end after all was pretty similar. Find out where they slide and line those parts up with oneanother.
