When I was studying in school, I think that I had missed some crucial explanations and I was clueless about how to solve such equations. I barely passed this topic, having memorized some basic formulas and writing them down. Today, at 28 years of age, I decided to look up what I had missed. It didn't even seem hard. Great explanation for specific questions, but a deeper understanding of how to go about solving would have been more appreciated. I teach and tutor higher mathematics , I also look for vids to supplement my teachings with students. Some of your other vids are wonderful, my comment is strictly constructive criticism. Most of my students only need to understand how to solve the problem to complete their degree (and of course get the answer right). You would make a wonderful tutor if you haven’t tutored already. Cheers!

If you get familiar with the graphs of trig functions, the answers become visually intuitive. Then you actually learn what the math is saying about reality. For example, once you have cosx = sinx, you automatically know that those functions equal each other periodically. Look at the graph! It’s so cool! The math checks out! This video is needlessly confusing!

*PREFACE* I probably shouldn’t tell others this strategy because it would be better if everybody struggled with math. *HOW TO SOLVE ANY SOLVABLE PURELY TRIGONOMETRIC EQUATION* Step 1.) Rewrite all trigonometric functions in First Principles The meaning of this is that: You write everything in terms of sin(x) and cos(x). Step 2.) Objectively simplify this new equation. The meaning of this is that: You manipulate the equation using the trigonometric identities in a way that accomplishes two goals (1) Reduces the number of terms that contain trigonometric terms (2) reduces the order of trigonometric terms Step 3.) Weierstrass Technique. let t= sin(x) cos(x) = 1-t^2

Couldn’t we have squared both sides as an alternative? Second, aren’t you not supposed to divide by a trig factor - in this case COS X,since you may loose solutions??? Please explain thanks.
