It’s called Islamic clothing in a Muslim country. A country that’s been Muslim since the 7th century. Absolute ignoramus. Seeing pictures of Bedouin girls not wearing proper hijab is expected because there’s no industrialisation and spread of Islamic knowledge. This is similar to Arabian peninsular Bedouins who wear face coverings but no headscarf. It’s just lack of knowledge . We thank Allah our country experienced an Islam revival during a difficult communist socialist era and after years of colonialism.

I’m assuming you’re neither Somali or Muslim so stop projecting your insecurities of Arabs onto Somalis. Islam is the religion of Muslims, a religion sent to mankind. Revealed to the prophet ﷺ, an Arab man m, and it’s is Arabs who shared this religion to us. And it is Arabs that we have historically had friendly trade relations with, just like Persians, Indians, Greeks, romans and Egyptians. To be Somali means to be Muslim. We exist homogenously today partly because our ancestors fought for our religion against a neighbouring Christian kingdom and their ally, the Portuguese. And Somalis have contributed to the spread and teaching of the religion. We even fought the British for 20 odd years as a result of them bringing missionaries into our country. We are the first country on the African continent that the British used aerial bombardment on. We endured all of that fighting of 20 odd years without the help of Arabs or any other. Our belief in Allah and this great religion is not tied to Arabs. What’s so bad about Arabs, everyone is racist, xenophobic. There is good and evil in every community. Islam is a religion that encourages love rooted in belief not nationalism or ethnicity anyway.
