The REALITY is Somalis ARE inseparable because there are NO people that are unique and identical and separate. Few countries were separated BUT could not stay separate. Somaliland Gained independence from Britain in 26, june 1960. Somalia Gained independence from Italy in 1st july, 1960. Somaliland united whith somalia but that union was never ratified legally according 2005 African union fact-finding mission. In 18 may, 1991 somaliland declared it's independence from somalia. A constitutional referendum was held in Somaliland on 31 May 2001.[1] The referendum was held on a constitution that affirmed Somaliland's independence from Somalia. 99.9% of eligible voters took part in the referendum and 97.1% of them voted in favour of the constitution. Since the referrendum, somaliland made it's own currency, police, military, Parliament and Educational institutions. In the last 33 years somaliland became the beacon of hope, peace and the largest de-facto country. Somaliland held several of free and fair democratic elections specially one man one vote. What's funny is that failed state of somalia still claims somaliland. When it comes somalia there is never any one man one vote elections. Somalia became major factory of terrorism and piracy.

The Republic of Somaliland is not a breakaway region of Somalia but an unrecognized independent country that declared its sovereignty in 1991. It was the first country in the region to gain independence from Britain on June 26, 1960, and later united with Somalia, a union that ultimately failed. Since reclaiming its independence on May 18, 1991-now celebrated as Somaliland’s Restoration Day-Somaliland has governed itself with a distinct administration, flag, currency, and military, successfully maintaining peace, stability, and democratic systems separate from Somalia. Although unrecognized by the international community, Somaliland is a self-sustained nation with a unique identity and aspirations, proving its resilience and commitment to self-governance for over three decades.

Somaliland became independent more than most of today’s African nations. This should be recognized by African states to honour their sovereignty and territorial integrity for each country otherwise non of today’s members will be free from entrapment that Somaliland suffers due to their failed union with aggressively unstable chaotic neighbour Somalia. No one will be immune. There for to protect African nations from such pandora box, Somaliland case must be brought to justice and recognition and full membership of AU should be granted.
