This my type of video! Love the viz, it is so clear! Also enjoyed how you captured so much marine life. Looks like you could just pet that nurse shark! Was that a black grouper at 15:07? Great video, thank you for sharing!!

Thanks Kim and Jason! This was one of our favorites to film and edit! We’re pretty sure it’s a black grouper as well at the 15 minute mark. If you listen real careful you can hear him thump at us, which apparently they use as a territorial warning, and also to stun their prey. It amazing every time we dive that reef we see something different! We ended up getting a drone and are enjoying it, and got the insurance per your suggestion in your video, luckily haven’t needed it yet, but we haven’t gotten all that brave with it yet either 😄

@@unchartedflorida I will have to go back and watch that section with the grouper. Yes, I noticed the drone shots. Looks good! Once you practice more with it you will feel more confident flying it. I launch from my hand while on the boat now. Also, watch out for birds. I was flying it at Clearwater Beach one day and this crow was trying to go after it.

@@kimandjasoninflorida do you guys land the drone on deck or land back in your hand? good tip on the birds! They must be real confused on what that drone is flying with them!

@@unchartedflorida I land in my hand. I start to lower it and then it will sense it and go up slightly, I keep doing this and then pretty much snatch it out of the air and flip it upside down really quick and it turns off. If you have the space, you might be able to land on the deck.

I'm sorry you guys but that is a mostly dead and dying coral reef. I SCUBA'd there in the late '60s and early '70s (throughout the Keys) and I'm beyond shocked at what I'm seeing. I've been grieving for the reefs for days. I knew it was bad but I didn't know that NOW was the end. There be death there. I'm horrified and saddened...😢
