@@SimUKReviews I'm definitely enjoying 2024 more than 2020. For a starter, it starts faster than 2020 and overall, it feels smoother. I haven't tried it with VR yet. I have a Pimax Crystal Light and have seen some say that it's better in 2024 and some say the opposite. I will test that in a couple of days. I love how you can walk anywhere, and I've also been driving in a vehicle lol. Getting back to flying though, I think 2024 has a great future ahead of it. My only concern is the whole online only thing but as long as they don't have server issues going into the future, I'll be very happy.

I'm in Canada friend and like most everybody else launch day was a write off for me, but everything has been pretty much fine from beginning of day two. Been doing flights, been in the career mode no problem and even checked out a couple of my addon airports imported over from 2020 and they were fine too. I also brought my A2A comanche over to 2024 and it seems to work fine. That's my experience so far. It will come along, just like all sims before it. I think people just need to step back a second, take a deep breath and let the team at MSFS do what they need to do. I'm pretty sure they want it to work just as bad as we do and they will get it there. At least there is someone out there trying to bring us a better modern sim and that's a breath of fresh air for this genre as far as I'm concerned. They have brought new life back to flight simming and deserve a little slack. They for the most part kept their word when it came to MSFS 2020 and I think this will be no different. It's a sad, low class act that shows desperation for views. I went as far as unsubscribing to channels I been a fan of for years. Once they start that approach, I'm gone and won't look back. Same from day 2 I've had no issues with the servers (Canada as well) At least they're working to innovate and improve their simulator unlike all the others and I'm having a blast on career mode despite the bugs which I hope they'll fix soon. But we live in an age of... you know what.

Yes. Many Bugs in MSFS 2024. I don't mind. 2020 is there and very stable, full of working add-ons. Always available. Always there for me. One day I'll fully delete it and go for 2024 24/7. Until then I will fly both. I understand that sometimes events like this happen at launch. A faulty game launch is incapable of ruining my day nor my mood. I know this is just temporary. Great things will come. I appreciate the fact that I have a roof, shelter, food, Wi-Fi and a glorious pc to run it. There are people that barely have electricity much less a cheap cell phone. So I am grateful that in my life time I can thank ASOBO for giving me many hours of joy by letting me fly MSFS 2020 and wait for a stable and flyable 2024. Who knows in the future what they might come up with? I just hope I live long enough to see and fly it. Thank you Asobo team. Keep flying.

Yes, went on an hour ago, had a little update and finally got onto the UK servers properly for the first time. Got my license and did the first mission without issue. It still has quite a few issues in the menus and settings that need sorting but the flying is excellent for me. As an explorer and free flyer, the improved graphics are great and performance is much better than 2020 on my RTX 3060 12Gb VRAM and mostly high settings. More aircaft at default is also very welcome. Only problem I've had is trying to control the motorised balloon....it doesn't control at all even at dawn, except for going up.

Smoothe as Silk for me here in NJ USA. First day nightmare yes. But last 2 days im loving it. Recommended specs on my machine.. Intel I 700- 10 700, 32 Gigs DDR, RTX 2080, 300 mbs solid. HP Reverb G2 V2 and Quest 3 with Virtual desktop. 4 minute load tomes mostly..Amazing sim. I logged 1800 hours on MSFS2020. Ill double that with this new version. Totally realistic, total immersion. I am 2 flights away from getting my Aerial banner towing license! 24 flights so far in career mode. Happy Flying.

This actually makes a lot of sense. The issues I’ve been having haven’t really been attributable to large amounts of data. I’ve had issues with login, for example, but mostly I’ve noticed in the training that there is huge delays. And that would be basically simple database writes that are taking a long time.

So it definitely runs more frames except now mission's aren't finishing. Objectives are stuck on green or even not finishing or lagging. I've tried 3 missions 1 last night and can't finish one. They keep just messing up.

There is a solution to database cache overload. It's almost as old as the problem, and made no one filthy rich. It's called having enough resources and a load balancer.

@@SimUKReviews No, your last video when you said your throttle was not working, you can see the airplane's key in the off position. I have the Alpha yoke and often have to ensure the key is in the right position. If you jump into the plane and its off, the engine will shutdown.

Ahhh! So that is interesting, because I know I had my pilots ignition on (because I checked it) but I wonder if the copilot ignition being off might have cut the engine? So just wanted to thank you. Investigation showed that yes indeed!!! The second Yoke Ignition was overriding the Pilot's ignition. Removed the second ignition and all worked as expected. So thanks for spotting that.

For some reason I am unable to setup an IFR flight plan no matter what I do. EFB and aircraft avionics only provide visual approaches. Not sure what's going on since I see others not having this issue. Submitted a support ticket, so we'll see what they say. But for now I have to keep flying with 2020. Disappointed...

It’s been really fun. The bad part is the graphics. It just doesn’t seem like it has the correct resolution for anything. Hopefully that’ll get addressed soon.

Personally, from what I can tell and have experienced. The launch connectivity issues are over and the game seems to run smoothly and load in all the detail as it should. I’m still noticing a lot of bugs that are outside of the connectivity issues. I can’t seem to get the same standard of controls as I did in msfs2020 even though there’s meant to be a way to use your old control profiles. The cockpit camera seems to drift for whatever reason and I’m absolutely certain it’s not a hardware issue. I’ve also been getting audio issues with the aircraft. The engine noises and button clicks are there but unbelievably quite compared to wind and ATC.

I'm on Xbox X in Sweden. Runs ok now but buggy. The major problem I have is that you can use your mouse inside the cockpit. So I can just more or less only hand fly without any system interaction. Really hope this is fixed soon.

I got loaded up the first day in 23 minutes. Impossible to get in and fly after installation though. Second day, I did you flights in different planes. Everything looked good and flew well and at 100 FPS or better. Day three was a different story. Could not successfully fly anything. Optica would not respond to joystick inputs, Caravan, same thing. I wondered if it was my hardware. Nope, all good in FS2020. Tonight, the Bell 407 and the CH-54 Skycrane. A lot of trim input to get them to fly but still lost control as they started spinning. On another You tube channel today, A pilot who is a commercial airline pilot got in the 737, programmed a route and started to takeoff, ad ended up in a cow pasture after the end of the runway. That got the peanut galley passing Boeing jokes around. LOL. Anyway, is this symptom related to a data base traffic jam too?

I think it’s been solid. Sure the first day was a little frustrating but that was due to my anticipation and not being able to play it. Every game that is released has a lot of patches in the beginning. This game is one of the most complex games if you think about all the little details and codes running through this game. I get having expectations after dropping $200 on the game, but it’s out of anybody’s control except the developers so might as well be patient so they can fine tune it to be worth the $200 you paid. Considering the situation, 2024 is doing really well. Although the development team has been very open and honest. 2020 was much worse. It hasn't even been a week yet, and people are acting like huge, entitled babies over it. Individuals must understand that thousands of individuals and millions of moving parts from all over the world are collaborating to make this happen; it's not your average game. People are griping about little problems that were essentially resolved in the first week. What they have done here is nothing short of a miracle.

Most things have settled for me, but in the game, there seem to be things that are not working well. For example, I cannot get localizers or approach control to work, and when doing flight planning, the plane does not always seem to follow the route in the Garmin. This was using stock airplanes. None of my payware planes work as well as they did in 2020 but of course some of this was to be expected.

I wish I could be as optimistic as some people here, but unfortunately I can't. Because if I had to describe my experience with MSFS in a single sentence it would be that it’s like buying a house built on a floodplain; you know that it’s risky and the river is likely to flood, but you like the property so much that you do it anyway and just hope that the water won’t reach you and do too much damage next time the river floods. As to the ‘database issue’, from my perspective these things have to be viewed in the context of scalability and economies of scale. Challenges such as these have been around since the very first online games. For example, 30 years ago the developers of Quake had to design netcode to connect up to 200 hundred players at a time when end user connectivity bandwidths were measured in kilobytes, not gigabytes. Things like latency were a real issue so they had to come up with some pretty innovative predictive code, so that you didn’t fire a railgun at an opponent and have to wait ten seconds before the latency in the system showed you the results. Similarly, in the early 2000s the MMO World of Warcraft (literally a database on the backend of a multiplayer game) broke the record for the biggest number of concurrent player connections (and again in subsequent years), which, again, involved a lot of ground-breaking and innovative thinking and problem solving, something you can still read about today at several sources that chronicle the history and development of the game. So I guess that just leaves us with the idea that games are just harder to create and produce today and so these kinds of things are inevitable. Again, economies of scale should point to the real problem. They are not harder to create and produce because advances in the methods, tools and technologies have caught up. What they are is harder to manage, because there is a lot to manage and manage effectively. Which is why MSFS’s development cycle never made sense to me, as developing a game of this size and complexity, on the fly, involving a single instance of base code that forces everyone (including 3rd party developers) to upgrade and beta test the next version of updates/fixes, seemed to be inviting the river to flood.

For microsoft, FS is about learning to optimize and scale cloud services. Simmers are a testing community for the services that makes ms one of the largest and richest companies on earth. These teething issues has given ms lots of good data, and is probably viewed as a success, and to be honest I am not too worked up over it. @@SimUKReviews UK, down in Hampshire mate. It was a little stuttery for maybe 4 or 5 secs while it loaded in at the beginning of each tutorial but after that was pretty good, only noticed one or two blurry textures 👍

@@kayless First time I got on to UK servers was a couple of hours ago. That stutter clears up pretty quick, by the time you click Begin Flight it's over.

How long do you let it load when it gets to 98%? Since launch I have been stuck at 98% and after 30 minutes quit. I am in the UK also (Midlands).

They've "increased the number of servers"…and, coincidentally, players of 2020 are suddenly reporting slowdowns and blurry textures. Wonder where they got the new servers from? 🤔

I hope they do get it fixed. However, I do think they backed themselves into this unfortunate corner by trying to be clever and making things too complicated. If they'd just released the sim the same way as FS2020 was released, none of this would be happening. Sure, it would be a big download and take up lots of space. But I'd rather have that than what we have now. The more you overcomplicate things, the more capacity there is for things to mess up.

Don't know about improvements but in my case the Xbox app tells me I have played the game for 41.6 hours , completed the First Flight achievement and started (3%) Give Us a Wave. I think this is incredible since I haven't seen an aircraft yet! Whilst loading I'm averaging 5 to 50 Kbps, This on 900+ mbps connection. Sometimes I wonder if it worth it.

@@jeffconnolly5514. If you have a VPN, using it sometimes greatly improves download speeds in MSFS. During 2020 updates I've seen speeds jump from 8kbs to 300Mbs simply by turning on Nord VPN. At other times, it does nothing, but it can be almost miraculous. Worth a try

Simple fix = more servers or if you only care about $$$$ then ride it out and wait till all the gamepass ‘casual’ simmers give up on it and move onto a different game…. Knowing how ruthless the industry is, my money is on more of solution two than one and what has the gaming world come to when we think it’s ’good news’ when we hear that a product that some people have paid well over £100 for may be playable in a months time… Anyway, thanks m off to play my copy of simcity 2013, I’ve heard they’ve finally fixed that one up too…

Well yes for sure since day 2 I’ve been running “ok” (4090, quest3, VD space warp 40fps) but …… whilst cockpit is nice and clear and movement butter smooth there is no improvement in outside scenery quality over 2020 other than some nice lighting and clouds seem smoother. So the hype still hasn’t been realised by a long way IMHO but I’ll keep at it and just like 2020 I’m sure they’ll get there eventually but absolutely shameful they took so much money for a not fully finished product… IMHO 😊

Love all these, running perfect posts that contain except this and that not working. The sim is still far from functioning perfectly, that's clear. When it is, I'm sure it'll be great and those thinking it's fine now, will realise how buggy it was when they posted to this video.

No big issues on Xbox GamePass version in Norway 🇳🇴 since launch. 🚀. Update came yesterday and New York 🗽 now looks amazing. Think they it’s photometry now. Bergen Norway 🇳🇴 still looks like the latest from 2020. I’m gonna buy a keyboard and mouse 🐭 combo because the new menus and systems is quite bad on controller. Also the text is way too small on a 50 inch 1080p TV. Also the Norwegian spoken language is strange. Has a hint of someone from the hood in Oslo. Not that it’s anything wrong being from the hood, but usually Norwegian voices are more posh.

Other than some occasional slow loading of the landscape and getting a message it cannot load realtime data, I haven’t been having any issues. I flew a 747 from JFK to LAX yesterday and only had the cannot load realtime message again.
