when taking photos with this camera, is it always super zoomed in?
@videocamguy10644 жыл бұрын
This is a 50mm lens, a fixed focal length. I do find the 50mm to be pretty tight, although a lot of people say the 50mm matches how the eyes see. I prefer a wider focal lens.

What's the music that starts playing at 1:42? Sounds awesome! Also, those were some lovely pictures that you took! I just got this camera gifted to me from a relative and I can't wait to start shooting with it.

Which lens are you using ? Does it mount with no adapter ? Great video's!
@videocamguy10644 жыл бұрын
7Miralas This was the 50mm f1.7 Canon FD Lens. It was the mounting system before the current EF system.

hi i've been taking some pictures with the camera too but i have a question. I would really like to take portraits so getting my F down would be really nice to get shallow debt of field. This with the 1/60 shutter speed will make my picture overexposed for sure. How does the AE mode affect the aperture? Does it just adjust the shutter speed and keep the aparture as open as possible or...?
@yolexvidz5 жыл бұрын
in other words how were you able to get pictures with such shallow debt of field outside
@videocamguy10645 жыл бұрын
@@yolexvidz Think of this Camera as a simple point and shoot, where you can only control the Apeture and the ASA (Film Sensitivity). This lens I have on this copy of the camera is a f1.7 so I set the apeture there and the Shutter speed then compensated to create the correct exposure. Does this answer your question?

Why on all your pictures does the picture look straight when you focus on it yet as you snap it it seems to end up on an angle....is this you are the camara....not a complaint...just a question and query about how I need to adjust my picture taking
@videocamguy10645 жыл бұрын
Hey Freddy, the canted angle is supposed to be a printed paper snapshot spread on the table. Simply a creative choice instead of making the picture straight.

How do you get your pictures unto your computer or whatever. I have this same camera i found in my garage and wanted to know how.
@videocamguy10644 жыл бұрын
Hi Dorothy, I take my 35mm film rolls to a camera store that has a developer. They scan the negatives and make HI-RES jpegs. They send me those and I can work with them on my computer.

How to know if this is still working? I have this but don't know if it's still functioning
@videocamguy10644 жыл бұрын
Load it up and shoot a test roll, have it developed and check for light leaks. This is a mechanical system, and the works can get gummed up over time. There are still shops that do cleaning and maintenance on these cameras, maybe worth it if its not working properly.
@azul43575 жыл бұрын
hey, would you recommend this camera or the canon ae-1?
@videocamguy10645 жыл бұрын
The Ae-1 is a more feature packed camera, lots of manual control over the exposure triangle. I own the Ae-1 and it will be one of the cameras in this series.

How Do I digitize my film?
@videocamguy10643 жыл бұрын
I take mine to a camera store and they digitize the Negatives by scanning them. There are lots of online services that do the same by mail.

I saw one at a pawn shop this winter. It had a $40CDN price tag. I see them on E-Bay for between $50-$100CDN. If you are a collector, it makes a nice shelf addition.
