EXACTLY! IMHO it's a lot more fun to handle the cards. Once in a grading case... I also don't understand grading 1/1 or x/10 cards. It is what it is.

Aloha Chris, great video. The great Roberto Clemente died December 31, 1972. He passed away on a humanitarian endeavor. The Baseball Hall of Fame changed their rules to allow him to be eligible for the Hall of Fame without the 5 year retirement period. Topps had a final card in the 1973 set. He passed away with exactly 3000 hits. Quality player and human being.

Thanks for sharing your recent finds! Crazy cool Clemente auto & The Batman #1! I was thankful to find some 1966 Batman cards at a garage sale in 2020 w/ a #1 card in the lot (might grade a 2). Guessing his hitting average was higher at night.

Schilling came to Boston from Arizona following the 2003 season, so if that's a '04 card with a game-used jersey patch, the only available patches that could have been used in a game would've been from 2003 or earlier. Thus, the patch couldn't have been a Red Sox patch, even though the card shows Schilling in a Sox jersey. Which is all to say I'm pretty sure that's an Arizona Diamondbacks patch on the card. Interesting card nonetheless!

that's a nice Curt Schilling patch card. I think that patch was from when he was with the Diamondbacks but all those old auto cards are worth collecting.

Yeah that Schilling must be a Diamondbacks jersey. You can even see a little bit of that Dbacks greenish color in the bottom right.

Great pick-ups. Schilling is definitely from an Arizona uniform. Sweet Hammerin' Hank and Batman. The '66 Batman had 3 versions Blue, Black and Red Bat or A,B,C series. It seems like I've seen another set as well. I can't remember at the moment.

Don't actually mind where the paper loss is on the Hank Aaron rookie. At least half his face or jersey are not missing. That's a pretty high eye appeal PSA 1, imo.

500 bucks for 3 HOF'er Terrell Owens cards. Or gamble 5000 dollars plus on one Brock Purdy card...tough decision 😮The Batman card looks pretty good, it's just surface wear I think. Which SGC dinged the card on. But the grade is probably fairly accurate and you are right. It is Batman's debut in trading cards

I agree with your assessment about the value of breaking up the Owens' cards as opposed to a group. May I ask a question, please? I know someone that has between 100-125 Sean Casey cards all serial numbered 21/xx, 21/xxx, etc. which is his jersey number. He's thinking about selling but doesn't know if it's best to sell individually or as a group. Your assessment? I'm sure professional players have bought cards and he's thinking about contacting Mr. Casey directly to see if he might be interested. He doesn't know if it's best to take this route or contact a reputable seller/dealer to possibly contact him. Your thoughts?

For question and answers: I know you’ve discussed the custom cards people make and PSA authenticates as being not great for the hobby. Taking patches from random jerseys and adding a sticker auto. But isn’t that exactly what Panini and other companies do? Now obviously the legality of trademarks is a separate issue. But a 1/1 Purdy rookie RPA from Panini with a patch from no specific game or event isn’t that far removed from what the custom card makers are doing. One is worth $150k? What are your thoughts?

Your stroud pull is like me a few years ago. I hadn't bought any cards in like 20 years, went to the card shop, asked the guy what is a good cheaper basketball pack to buy, he told me well donruss has the luka rookie. I bought 1 pack and sure enough got the luka.

The tropics basketball cards for sure were given away at the theater screenings, I was at one of the local screenings , the radio station was handing out the 3 pack of cards , inside you will find I belive woody Haroldson, Andre 3000 and will Farrell, I have 3 sealed packs at home. They also gave away orange cones and phome fingers , good times

I think the Curt Schilling patch is purple because in 2003 he played for the Diamondbacks, 2004 is the first year he played for the Red Sox…hope this helps!
