Is it safe to stand behind a horse? I heard that they can kick? Or is it only untrained horses that kick?

All horses can kick so its important to be careful but some horses are less inclined to kick, especially when they are familiar with you. For safety Its best to stay out of kicking range but it's also good to train and work with horses on not kicking
