Gosh it's frightening to know these facts. We certainly need to protect these magnificent animals, it's about time humans realise that they are not the most important creature living before it's too late. 😢❤❤
@thetooginator1539 ай бұрын
James - I LOVE your channel and how you treat your animal friends. You may consider talking about WHY we humans should want large predators in the wild. One good reason is ecological balance. We’ve seen what happens when animal species have no natural predators: the species overpopulate and consume everything until there’s nothing left to eat, then they starve. Nature isn’t “nice”, it just “is”. Also, we want to maintain a healthy genetic diversity in lions, so our descendants can enjoy seeing these beautiful animals in the wild - even if only in videos. Another reason is that we won’t know what would happen if there are no large predators in the wild, but we DO know that it wouldn’t be good. Humans are dependent on nature for the very air we breathe, so we should let nature flourish as much as we possibly can.

I read that lions live in the Kafa Reserve, which apparently is a rainforest/jungle! So at least a small population of lions live in a jungle, still not warranting the "king of the jungle" title, but still pretty cool none the less.
@globalunitedanimals7 ай бұрын
Right on. Your the first animal person online i have heard tell reality about lions. One other thing they incorrectly portray is that lions are kick ass hunters. Reality is they only have a twenty to thirty percent success rate, depending on the pride.

I know it's an INCREDIBLY rare phenomenon, but is it true that when it actually happens, a lion/tiger hybrid ("liger") can become significantly larger than BOTH parent species? This seems to be the case with the Kodiak/Polar bear hybrids that have started to crop up in recent years, since global warming has started forcing Polar bears to venture further south into Kodiak territory in search of food; and the wild hogs (originally the accidental byproduct of smaller wild pigs sharing territory with farm-raised domestic swine) that do so much damage to crops in the central/southern U.S...?

Actually among wild horses when mares give birth go in a post birth heat cycle. If during this time the stallion of the herd dies or looses a fight to a younger stronger stallion the new stallion will kill the new born foals and breed with the mares so that his line is next.

I guess I dont know how much, if at all, you know about/have interacted with other Wildlife Rescue/Education creators, but why is it that a creator like Safari Sammie can be in the enclosures with her lions/tigers/jaguars, and you cannot? I know you've said in the past it isn't up to you at all, but curious if it has to with regulation/law or more just you didn't raise them from cubhood/have enough hours with a certain type of animal...etc. Your vids are amazing man, keep doin Gods work

Great comment Clayton. I often wonder this as well. Unfortunately, I think, & I could be wrong, but I think social media has has a lot to do with the changes in the park that James works in.We know that social media isn't always good. Perhaps there hasn't been as much comment about the other park you mentioned. Whatever the case, it is very sad, but I guess, necessary. 😮❤😢

Not that you said anything wrong really, but just to add to it I suppose: To my knowledge, the part about the, uh... "attacking" the cubs (to put it lightly) is actually pretty rare. What does happen pretty commonly though is the other part about lionesses having multiple litters with different male lions. It's also still believed that in these circumstances, one of the male lions will still be basically regarded as the leader of the pride, and the others will be more submissive around him. But it is also true that male lions tend to be a bit more solitary, from what I can tell.
