That sea creature chasing the boat is definitely a seal. They're not aggressive. It was likely playing. And seals can travel pretty fast. They're really common here in Scotland.

I'm a brazilian biologist. The video was recorded in Rio Grande do Sul, south of Brazil. The area has groups that protect seals and sea lions that end up there. It's definitely a seal.

In the first clip, the Japanese man says and demonstrates when you turn the knob to the right (counterclockwise), water comes out from the faucet. When the knob is turned to the left (clockwise), water comes out from the shower head. It's impossible to have it both on simultaneously. So when you rewatch his clip, it's exceptionally creepy that water comes out from both. For those confused about the configuration of the "low sink", the Japanese traditionally will sit down to suds/shampoo outside of the bathtub to wash off (hence the low basin) before soaking in the tub. The shower area is entirely tiled and always has a drain. The toilet and sink is typically in an adjoining room which can be closed off by a door.

Also the “creature” that was following the boat was definitely a seal or sea lion, they tend to jump in and out of the water like that at a very quick pace! It most likely was interested in what the person on board was eating or simply wanted to play/say hello! I love seals and sea lions lol 😂

Casper! Not sure if you’ll read this but the “Grudge” ghost is actually a ghost in Japanese folklore called a “yurei”. They are a Japanese ghost that are human exclusively and their story typically revolves around revenge against those who wronged them. They are different from yokai which, for simplicity sake, are phenomena given form.

4:53, I think that in Japan it is common to wash yourself outside of the bathtub. You sit on a low stool and wash yourself at the sink. As you can see there is a drain in front of the tub as well to drain the water than will end up on the floor. That's why it is so low to the floor.

It was a seal. You can tell from how it swims, its shape, and where its eyes were. The guy was fishing late at night, and that seal or sea lion wanted what he caught. They can swim up to 25mph, which is how it was easily keeping up with his low-end motorboat. What made this scary was that it was at night, pitch black, and that seal was clearly trying to jump aboard. It's not some "unknown species" nor was it trying to "destroy the boat." Give me a break. It was hungry, eager, and wanted the fisherman's catch.
