It's pretty ridiculous that people are acting childish because switch 2 wasn't announced, and instead, we got a new trailer of XCX. While I'm definitely not an Xenoblade guy, at least Xenoblade fans are happy with what they got, and as for me, I'll just patiently wait till Nintendo finally announces Switch 2 sometime soon.

In some ways it's strange to have it shown just before DK, but if anything that suggests Switch 2 is being announced soon after DK. On that basis, it makes sense for them to get more pre-orders in the bag before Switch 2 is all that people are thinking about.

Honestly ? The looks of the Switch 2 are unimpressive, it’s essentially a clone of Switch 1. As for the specs, leaks from last year were correct. We learned nothing of substance really. I’m baffled that not a single Switch 2 game has leaked, when really, it’s what matters.

I think there is an interesting point on Nintendo's behavior that hasn't been stressed. Xenoblade Chronicles X is releasing in late March, and yet, Nintendo feels they need to have two trailers for it already. That tells me the minimum time Nintendo thinks they need to market even a midtier game. I think there is zero chance that Nintendo is giving us a new 3D Mario in early March while saying nothing thus far. Possibly Nintendo could give us a Switch 2 in April, with Metroid Prime 4 launch. We have one trailer for that, but if people expected a new Mario game, they have to concede there is no Switch 2 until at least May. Regardless, Nintendo isn't delaying the Switch 2 trailer for Xenoblade, it just isn't time yet because launch is a number of months away.
