for those who don't know about dissociation and would like to know since the video(s?) mentions it _! !_ *dissociation is a coping mechanism where ones brain detaches itself from reality for periods of time, especially when overwhelmed.* in it's simplest form it's mainly categorized by two types: - _derealisation, feeling disconnected from the world around you (i.e. the world feels like a dream)_ - _depersonalization, feeling disconnected from oneself (i.e. feeling like a robot)_ although you can just experience those two (one or both)- _identity confusion, amnesia, and identity alteration* are also things experienced._ dissocation can be a symptom of: _ptsd, depression, anxiety, schizophrenia, bipolar disorder, borderline disorder and maladaptive daydreaming._ but dissocation is also it's *own category of disorders*. these disorders being: - depersonalization-derealisation disorder - dissociative amnesia - dissociative fugue - dissociative identity disorder i won't be going into the disorders, so feel free to check them out if you wanna learn about any of them. hope this helps anyone :]

I started crying, because I accidentally acted like that in front of my best friend and she told me I was faking for attention. I wasn't. She was the only one I trusted. It has taken me lots of months (maybe even over a year) to trust her because of my past experiences, down the drain. Sorry, I got a little carried away. The video was amazing! As someone disabled with chronic pain I really appreciate how horikoshi wrote Toshinori in that scene. And yeah there are lots of people who would look and have an intrusive thought about jumping, but most brains come equipped with a filter that helps keep you doing shit like that or driving your car into oncoming traffic. Like all filters it’s not perfect, and there are some people who flat out don’t have a filter built in at all which really sucks ass. Im assuming meds and therapy are able to help build or repair the filters for people who either haven’t ever had one or had theirs damaged (trauma, drugs, aging, etc); but honestly I have absolutely no clue what steps people are actually currently able to take. I’m just pulling shit out my ass

I actually have been bullied for 3 years and now I have trust issues from that and when the video of Izuku crying because he thinks he ruined smth for his friends reminded me of myself and I cry about it all night long when everyone is asleep you know I always feel like a burden and I always joke with them roughly to fit in and everything but it’s hard for me to keep up and that’s why when I go home I spend most of my time on social media or disassociating to the point where I can’t feel my muscles and can only here what I’m saying in my mind.
