@@PushinPierce basically the whole zionist propaganda spiel, that israel is valid for constantly attacking palestinians because the palestinian govt is all “anti-israeli terrorists” (also implied that all palestianians are complicit in terrorism when most are just tryna survive???). and the classic zionist thing of claiming israel is just “defending themselves” when they’re the ones who initiate attacks and bomb strikes on gaza, and displace and constantly attack palestinians who live in rubble and are constantly surveilled by israeli forces. i didn’t read everything because i felt sick after reading a few of his tweets, but it was just going on and on, and kept fighting everyone replying to him even tho he was getting like 4x ratioed on every tweet and reply. i wouldn’t be surprised if it was all deleted bc it was a big bad take. it also seemed to be spurred by the backlash israel has been receiving for deliberately killing a palestinian journalist then attacking people at her funeral THEN letting israelis literally STEAL THE HOUSES OF THE PALESTINIANS ATTENDING THE FUNERAL AND CLAIM THE LAND AND EVERYTHING IN IT AS THEIR OWN. cuz he was tryna push the thing of “we don’t know who killed her” and kinda implying she was complicit in palestinian terrorism and either deserved it / knew the consequences of being a journalist (who are supposed to be protected by the UN and world powers)?? even tho there’s bountiful evidence that it was a deliberate sniper shot from israeli troops on her specifically even tho she was wearing media designation and had a helmet and protection on (they aimed just below her ear in the gap in the helmet, SUPER precise shot). it was bad man, like all around bad take. jewish americans often are taught from birth to never question and to always appreciate israel, depending on your family and temple of course, so it’s really hard for a lot of them to try and see the other side because of this. because to them they’re the good guys taking back their ancestral land, because they got the area now called “israel” as a type of compensation from the UN for the mass jewish deaths in WWII - even tho that land was not the UN’s to give, and can’t make up for how badly all the european countries fucked up and let the Nazis get as powerful as they did (current “israel” had been occupied already by existing palestianian cultures that are mostly islamic for thousands of years in the middle east, not european jews or christians). and israel has just been given full approval to do whatever the fuck they want to palestinians, and the UN and world powers will turn a blind eye or even help the israelis do to the palestinians what the nazis did to them: attempting deliberate extinction of a people. hurt people will hurt people, but for a while it’s been clear that the oppressive force in this situation is and has always israel since it’s inception. not Hebrews or Jewish people, but israel as a terrorist and colonist state. anyway ben’s tweets were such propaganda-based hot garbage takes that i was shocked to see them. it’s funny how easily people will believe propaganda and lies if they have been conditioned to do so, or if they just really want to believe the bad stuff isn’t true. i understand the impulse, but ben’s a grown ass man and it felt like the argument of a 15 year old regurgitating what his parents told him without any critical thought or nuance. (obvi this is a super summarized and generalized history of israel/palestine so forgive any details i left out.)
