That was a great video. It's clear that you know your thing. It took me back to some nice exercise I did when studying arts. You should really consider doing this kind of technical criticism that also helps people learn about art and character design, more often. Is great!

Doc here again! Big-medium-small (also known as small medium large) is actually another design concept rather than explaining character. It's a carry over from impressionist painting techniques and composition techniques. In short the theory behind it is large objects grab your attention, medium object guide your eyes and small details are what you end up on. Let's use tracer as she is a perfect example of big medium small in action. Tracer's largest aspect of her is her legs. Which outside the text and gradient has little to no detail on them. Your eye is then dragged up to her torso which is made up of smaller shapes due to her jacket, arm bands and time thingy on her chest. Then your eyes are dragged up further to her head and face with smaller details situated around her head like her hair goggles and shoulders. Even in gameplay people are going to follow these breadcrumbs left by the designer when looking at tracer.

The fact that "don't judge a book by its cover" is a thing at all means that *we do, in fact, judge books by their cover by default.* Presentation matters.

Yes, they are attempting to normalize dysgenic features as well as the physical representations of sins like sloth, lust, and pride. Many wouldn’t be able to articulate or even understand why, but they’re convinced that these sins are unjustly marginalized, and if only they were normal then they wouldn’t be detrimental to them. This is false. Sin causes suffering, often most acutely suffering of the sinner.

Foreseeing that lust might appear to be a contradiction, because how could ugliness be a physical signifier of lust? The characters are ugly, but they’re based off individuals and tropes of perverted sexuality that run rampant in liberal societies. Healthy relationships and sexuality is rejected in favor of these corrupted versions that reject traditional aesthetics.
