The Mattel booth at NYCC used to have a table where you could trade a Collect and Connect figure part for another. That’s the only way I was able to get Gorilla Grodd, Solomon Grundy, and Despero. All great figures, along with the new Lobo Collect and Connect ( I bought him complete for $35 on eBay). Hoping that Mattel or whomever releases DC Universe/Multiverse figures in the future, does something like that in the future. But all that matters is the almighty dollar, not the collector.

Finding any of the DC Classics was alsmost impossible in my area. I found some at a little shop that is never open, got lucky one day, and he had them jacked up to $40 apiece. For a collector in an area that has very little of choices other than Ebay, its gotten to the point of collecting is getting outragous.

Agreed...also it can be hard to find anything if it's not part of the stock that gets shipped to the usual big-box stores in your particular area in the first place.

I bought way too many of these back in the day. I started my collection back roughly in 2010 with original Doctor Fate. I hit up Amazon whenever I could to fill the holes in my collection (but some of those two packs were crazy expensive so I gave about half of them a pass) until I was mostly caught up enough to have all the C&C figures. (I have completed both a regular and a bubbling Chemo). I leapt on naked Cheetah (which sounds very wrong) when I heard about her and I still have her MOC. I even subscribed to the line when mattycollector was doing their subscription only figures. I've been considering commissioning someone to sell my entire collection but since its weight would make shipping very expensive, I'd have to sell it locally. Oh, and Gentlemen Ghost was an elusive figure back then; no surprise since it's a key Giganta wave figure.

Yep, that black/gray Batman is incredibly difficult to find. And when you do, it's expensive. I bought DCSH Azrael way back in the day when it was actually on shelves. And I still have it. I didn't know it was hard to find until recently.

My grail will always be dr.fate. I've been able to get figures like metallo, plastic man, catwoman, and metamorpho at really good prices, but fate always eludes me. Also grodd. As far as the figures you mentioned, holy cow. I didn't even know naked cheetah was ever released. Like I'd seen the prototype photos but I thought they painted the black on them before they were all shipped out. Learn something new everyday.

Happy to say I got that Batman and Cheetah! As well as the Two Face and Catwoman. I've had them a while and can't quite remember the prices but Batman was pretty easy to get actually. That Cheetah on the other hand, yeah, collectors gotta collect.

The Azrael figure is a nightmare in my display case. The sculpture gave him a hunchback and I had to use nail polish on his legs in order to have him stand properly, showing his face... I’m still looking for the Two Face on this wave

It has to be the biggest misstep in Mattel's era that this Superman wasn't widely released and available. I often wish there was some way to get it rereleased today but it'll never happen. In fact Superman in general his very difficult to come by nowadays from both Mattel's DCUC and Multiverse toy lines. So much so that just a standard neutral eye DCUC Superman is still very high on my personal grail list. While I love the DC Super heroes select sculpt figure I still find that I long for the DCUC DC Universe Classics was peek DC toy collecting for me and while McFarlane figures aren't terrible they will never get over what Mattel did. That's taking into account price, quality availability choice and customer relations.

I am Still looking for DCUC Figures 6 years down the line! This month I finally got Vandal Savage and Icicle! Two actual members of the Injustice Society. With Solomon Grundy I now have 3 actual members of the Injustice Society. I do have a few other Earth 2 Figures that I put into my Injustice Society. Golden Age Joker, Penguin, Riddler, Catwoman, and Cheetah. Also Magog and Obsidian who go back and forth between Hero and Villain. But I have had to supplement with some Silver Age Villains. I am, of course, looking for Shade. Wasnt Gentleman Ghost also a member. DC was always Terrible about giving us enough Villains. Only on my Earth 3; Crime Syndicate do my Villains have a slight numbers advantage.

Glad I bought dc superheroes series way back when they were first released. Even then, batman wave were always short supply. i am missing batgirl cassandra cain, but the rest of the way i pretty much got them (except re-release repaint version). my most favorite are batman black suit and mr freeze.

glad DCUC and Motuc came along, (2008-2015) and saved me from the travesty of ML from this same period....cant imagine having those distorted figures on my shelf compared to what they recently released...these DCUC figures still look impressive on display, and are definitely the most successful action figure line of DC.

I was never able to find a Gentleman Ghost to complete my BAF Giganta, fortunately I was able to get the pink dress Giganta w/small Giganta, also never could get a Bronze Tiger to complete my BAF Apache Chief! Also looking for the Obsidian for my Earth 2 Injustice Society trying to kill his father and sister, and the modern Earth 3 Owl Man so I just have the Silver Age. I rarely get the BAF figures, because I have such a large collection I just try filling gaps. I Don't need 20 Superman and Batman figures for example. Collecting for 20-25 years I have multiple Earths on display. When a wave comes out I might actually need just one or two figures from it. This one new wave, only ones I really needed are Spoiler and the Ray. And really could have passed on Spoiler as I have Stefanie as Batgirl. If I can get a Ray I will have 3 of the Freedom Fighters with Uncle Sam and Phantom Lady from years ago, and I am fudging a 6" Snow-stormtrooper as Human Bomb, to be replaced if they do one.

Naked Cheetah wasn't short packed. She was cancelled and somehow, a store got a shipment of them. lol. I actually have one of them. I actually have all the figures on here except the Red Tornado variant. I know the guy who owns the MIB Red Tornado. I didn't know Despero was expensive. I remember when he was the cheap CnC nobody cared about because he came from a wave that wasn't that popular.

Jon Jansen Campos I wish. The Super Powers 30th anniversary is more of an green colour. Back in the 80’s there was a bad batch of Super Powers Superman figures that all suffered from yellowing plastic on the torso and upper legs. Because of this the blue turned a nasty greenish colour. It’s almost as if they based their colour scheme for the 30th Anniversary ones off of these defective ones. There will be a Multiverse Super Friends release of Superman with a nice blue colour after Christmas so I’ll pick a few of those up. Honestly though, over the years I’ve managed to get the unreleased one a few times so I’m pretty happy with that. It’s one of the 3 on the list I actually do have. :-)

Oh I didnt notice that the Super Powers one has a greenish tint. I'm planning to assemble my big 7 and I've stumbled upon your video when I'm searching for reviews with regards to the Super Powers Superman. The Superfriends version is also quite nice but Im not a fan of cloth capes. I'm having a hard time when it comes to Batman. I have the Blue and Grey version from DC Superheroes line but Im thinking of replacing him with either the Super Powers, Crime Stopper, or the one from the Dynamic Duo set.

I am agree with number one on your list, from the rarest to less rarest (variant) DCUC Red Tornado, then prototype (lighter blue) DCUC Superman, then (naked) DCUC Cheetah and finaly C&C Giganta; thes rest of your list have nothing of rare or hard to find, well may be DCSH Batman a little bit...

I don't think the modern Red Tornado was ever released. I wouldn't lose sleep over something like that. The light blue Superman I think did get a release eventually as a 2 pack or something. But not with that light blue Bizarro. Surprised you didn't mentioned Gleek. What a joke....

Superman never did get an official release in his lighter blue suit. That never happened. I managed to get a few that would trickle out onto eBay from time to time but an actual retail release unfortunately never happened. The modern Red Tornado wasn’t released either. As far as I know there is only one carded. If there are more I’ve never heard of them. Gleek is pretty rare but at the time of making the video there were almost 10 on eBay. There was also a slew of them that hit eBay from Asian sellers a few years back. Pity Gleek wasn’t a pack in with the Wonder Twins SDCC set. That’s what should have happened.
