For normal couples, you would expect both partners completing each other, so one sees perspectives that the other doesn't. In this case, you would expect one of those two girls to step in and say: "Look, honey, if you want to go to Disneyland, that's fine, but we have to pay our debt first. It's not like we can never go to Disneyland after paying our student loans. We can have some Disney movie nights at home until then." Nah, that's NOT a normal couple right there. Those two will pull each other into more debt, eventually go bankrupt and not care about it.

"America is such a dystopia. I just can't even afford to live." Usually written by someone on their new $1000 iPhone or $2000 MacBook while they sip their daily $15 Starbucks coffee in their $200 hoodie and $120 designer jeans and casually drop $1500 on a Disney annual pass because "they deserve to treat themselves." EDIT: I used to know a family that was just as irresponsible as these people. Their home was literally being foreclosed on due to lack of payments, and a week before the bank was scheduled to evict them, they left to go on a multiple-thousands-of-dollars cruise because "we need this vacation." They came back with less than 24 hours to clear all their stuff out before their locks were changed. I also know another person who was gifted a perfectly good car for free from their grandparents and promptly sold the car for a few thousand dollars so they could put a down payment on a DIFFERENT car that they wanted, then failed to make the payments on that new car and had it repossessed after a few months. This person also complains constantly about how they can't afford anything... Some people just have absolutely zero financial sense.

@Quintessence4444 true, it depends on the distance traveled and food. I'm local to parks and don't even go because I know my family can not coordinate enough to simply eat and then promptly drive there and spend no money on food in the parks.

A nurse here on italy earn an average of 1.500€ (around 1547,63 $) each month, they earn more than twice each and they are still in debt because they have to travel constantly on disneyland. The point is that when other students are going to complain about student loans and how is hard to afford tuition in america, people are going to take this couple as example and say that they can't pay the bill because they waste their money recklessly.

They are an example. If you take out a loan, then you should pay for it. There are better ways to go. For example, perhaps if you can't get a 100% scholarship to go, then maybe you aren't college material. A trade school would be cheaper and provide a similar income without all the debt.

When you fly on airplanes do you think the pilot just really enjoys sitting in a cockpit all day? When you hire a mechanic to check your breaks in your car do you think he just enjoys working on strangers cars for the fun of it? Almost all working adults do their daily jobs because the work is something they are trying to support themselves financially.
