I have always been a huge fan of the original 1976 run of the tamiya general dynamics f-16. It’s so bare bones- no engine but the red white and blue demonstration livery is just magnificent! I would love to fine it again.

Great video again. Sorry not to see you at Telford. I enjoy the history of vehicles you talk about in the videos. Always interesting to hear facts even about vehicles/planes I won't build myself. Keep up the great work. Hope you're new family are doing well!

When you decide to do that Panzer IIIA kit , for some reason Bronco has a step on the rubber of the wheels . Don't sand them flat .. you need to add a strip of styrene to the backs of the wheels.OR you might just use those resin wheels . Great haul of kits!

Thanks for the vid. Got 2 of the recent Do335 issues and exhausts/wheels etc. Got the second in case I stuff something up! Got that Panther 30 years ago when I attempted to reboot the hobby but failed at the time due to a lack of the necessary wherewithal/knowledge/time/space. And an ancient Eduard PE set to suit. Its about 3/4 built. Vinyl tracks have gone missing and the early wrong Tamiya link tracks are there. Sentimental value but might finish it one day. Still a good looking kit. Great box with the Panther as large as will fit on the front. Says "buy me!". Cheers 🦘

I’d love to see what you do with the Dorniers. I can’t count how many times I almost bought but passed on the Monogram kit during my youth. I did finally get the Tamiya kit with the Kubelwagen earlier this year. Couldn’t pass that one up. But now I want the big gun version, darn it!

Awesome video!!!! Have built the Panther "Steel Wheel" version. Think the Panther looks better with the steel wheels. Since I had every other Tamiya version of the Panther, just had to get this one as well and the night vision equipment was a bonus!! Also, have built the Do335B - loved building that kit!!!!!! Do remember building the Monogram/Revell version during the 1970s as a kid. There is a hobby shop in the Indianapolis, Indiana, area that specializes in rare/hard to find plastic model kits, but the guy that runs it asks for some very incredible prices!!! Whenever I visit family there, I always try to stop in and see what I want or what is reasonably priced. Last thing I bought from there that I really really wanted was the Tamiya 1980s M1 Abrams with the 105mm gun - think I paid $75.00 for that thing (OUCHIE-POO!!) but could not find that particular kit even at model shows. Look forward to the builds!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I built the Do-335B-2 and I loved it. I paid a whopping £80 for one on Ebay however considering it is one of my favourite aircraft and it is tooled by one of the best brands I thought I had to. It is definitely not worth that money, probably somewhere nearer to 30-40 if the rarity factor didn’t exist

A man after my own heart..buy cheap. As for me have very few kits that cost 70 to 100 dollars with photo etch. They are in storage for the moment and are ships. Try to buy cheap as much as I can...😊😊😊😊😊

I would really like to build the Tamiya G4M1 Betty. The one that comes with 11 figures, including Admiral Yamamoto. You can't find it anywhere but eBay, but I don't want to pay +£88 plus £28 shipping. Maybe one day I will get lucky. 😊❤❤❤😊

That kit also comes with decals and markings for Vice Admiral Ugaki's transport. So one needs to get 2 of them.

I have hit a brick wall with German WWII kits. Armour, aircraft figures etc. I watched the latest David Olusoga's BBC documentary - A house through time and it had a profound effect on me.

The Pfeil is a lovely kit. I bought and built it a few years ago for £50. Re-released with the Kettenrad last year and snapped up by hoarders immediately. I have also built the Skyray and Mig 15 which both need to be rereleased by Tamiya.

One rare one is Tamiya's 1/48 Skyray. Been out of production since 2011.

Love that kit. I’ll build my 1/72 version soon.

Funnily enough I'm building the panther G at the moment for my collection of big cats, mines pink though 😂👍

The Pfeil was reissued in late 2023 with bonus Kubelwagen (not Kettenrad). Readily available in the USA for under $40

I’m the same way with Hasegawa’s 1/32 Japanese aircraft kits. There is the usual Ki-61 hei (c) that is readily available, but the early Ki-61 (the ones that served in New Guinea , ko/otsu ) offer a much more interesting camo scheme, and of course they haven’t been released for years. So when one comes up for sale I try to grab it

The Tamiya 1/35 Panthers if I remember are missing the periscopes for the cuppola so might have to source plus rumour has it that HKM are to release the Pfeil in 1/48 😗
@kylel20632 ай бұрын
Tamiya’s panther G early and late versions are indeed missing the cupola periscopes, but this one with the steel wheels actually included them on the new sprue the kit came with!

@@kylel2063 Ah I did not know that thanx for the info. Been years since did a big "T" panther and now we are spoilt for choice when it come to panthers and that's a good thing as it's a personal fav 🙂

I've had that tamiya Do 335 A in my stash since the mid 90's that I bought from a local branch of beatties, still has the original price tag, so I might dig it out and see what I paid for it (minus about 30 years of inflation!) funny thing, in that same branch of beatties that steel wheel panther with night vision was on sale, (I only remember it because of the night vision gear) maybe should have bought one then as well!

I like the steel-wheeled Panther. There are quite a few rare Tamiya kits that were made in limited quantities and then discontinued. What is the name of the website you bought the Panther from? Thanks for posting and look forward to your next one

I think the 335B has a bigger nose wheel as well. I was lucky enough to get the trainer for a good price but what I've had no luck finding is the D.520, I was hoping it would come back with a vehicle in the recent re-releases but so far, no joy.
@MatterusOD2 ай бұрын
Hi. The D.520 (89583) is in stock on Frontline Hobbies website in Sydney for 50AUD (25GBP). It's where I got my kit of the first issue (61048). I think it's old stock that brought up from another distributor but still new. I don't think there are many. The 61048 I got was the last one in stock but the 89583 issue is still in stock today. I don't know what the postage would be to the UK but it should be reasonable. (I'm assuming you're in the UK). Probably still cheaper than eBay scalpers! Give it a go if you're keen. Hope this helps. Cheers Matt🦘

@MatterusOD thanks for that, I'm actually in NZ so fingers crossed the postage will be reasonable so I'll go have a look. 🤞

The steel wheels of this Panter kit are incorrect, they have the wrong diameter. The steel wheeled Panthers had a lower ground clearance because the steel wheels were somewhat smaller, not a huge issue but it is still noticeable. Tamiya used the same diameter as for the standard wheels. Also some details are missing on the wheel Hubs as well, but back than they were the first Ausf. G. models in 1/35 scale, they build into a nice Panther for a now reasonable price .They are really nice kits.
@HeinoHexenSchuss2 ай бұрын
and also the Idler wheels as you highlighted it are incorrect. Steel wheeled Panthers had the standard small idlers. The one in the Tamiya box is to small in diameter for a late panther and incorrect because of the double spoke layout for a standard. In the Academy Panther Ausf. G kit there is an extra pair of Idlers, which can be used as replacements. Tamiya panthers are somewhat old, missing details but still have that Tamiya Character, lovely kits.
