G'day Bruce, Cool episode as always . It's obvious just looking around both inside & outside "Mistress" that she's very near to completion, the standard of work is great with a nice finish look to all the surfaces. It would be terrific if you could put together a vid showing us all around the boat ,inside & out . I really enjoy looking down the lines of "Mistress" and would really enjoy some footage looking down along her hull ,decks, machine space ,and accommodation. Particularly now she's so close to being ready for launch . Thanks Bruce. Respect....!

G'day Craig and thanks very much for your good comments, appreciated mate! Regarding a 'walk around video' of Mistress, yes, it is a good idea and I do plan on doing this to show how she is looking. I actually did already film a quick look around at her decks earlier in the year so might add this to the next episode,... There has always been SO MUCH boatwork to do and she is usually always pulled apart somewhere where I am working, I cannot wait until this stops soon ahead,... Thanks for following Mistress' journey and all the best 🙂👍🏻⛵

It looks like your gear change cable is bolted to the hull, it’s normally secured in a similar fashion to your throttle cable so it is not affected by the movement that the engine/gearbox will experience 👍

Thanks for your good comments, appreciated and understood and as explained, when building your own boat everything always involves 'custom' solutions and which are always compromises! Also, the Morse cables used allow for quite a lot of movement after the saddle brackets 🙂👍🏻

Bruce, she is coming along. Your attention to detail is super human, not many would take as more time and effort to do what you have accomplished! Most would say good enough let get her in the water and I will get back to that part later and forget about it. Good on ya !!get it done right the first time.

Hey thanks very much for your good comments Jeff, appreciated sir and yes, I do agree that doing it right, to the best of my abilities, is how I am 'wired', so that I do not have to revisit a whole lot of sub-par work later! It has taken me a lot more time this side of sailing, BUT, once sailing it WILL BE a lot less time in yards fixing things later! 🙂👍🏻

Good to see you here again too Jerry! 🙂👍🏻 Jfyi I have continued to publish episodes fortnightly (every second week) since early March, but I am aware that the youtube systems/algorithms have not been pushing them like they're meant to.

I am afraid the bracket for the gearbox cable is a bad idea. It must be fitted on something at the gearbox or engine. Otherwise, the vibrations will destroy the cable. Otherwise, great job as per usual. Best regards from Jarle
@BuildingSYMistress4 ай бұрын
Thanks for your good comments Jarle, appreciated and understood, fyi my first preference was to have the gearbox cable mounted off the gearbox, however there are no simple ways to do this and there is a lot of 'play' in the cable after the saddle mount point, so it will be a case of seeing and monitoring how this goes, if something needs changing later then so be it,.. 🙂👍🏻
