I know for a fact that my high school’s bassline can’t do this because we only have at least six bass drums that are the exact same size. My former high school band director that’s been at my school for 37 years wouldn’t buy different sizes of bass drums because he can’t accept the contemporary drum corps style of marching bands. Thank goodness we just got a new director last week, so by next year, I hope that he gets new bass drums for our band.

It's not that he couldn't afford them. He just really likes the Big 10-style of marching bands. Looking back at this comment, I can now say that we started using tonal bass drums last summer.
