No dumb question. People ask it a lot. It is a mixture of the build combination and the tune. You can tune the surge out if you don't like it.

No, it is a rich lean tune with the build combination that makes it surge on idle. But I love your description! 👍😊

Do you ask Steve Morris the same question? He had 5 pieces\ mallory come out of one of his customer's crank and it destroyed the entire engine.
