A while ago we were talking about weapons after training bo sai kumite and someone read a comment,on line or somewhere, that all things being equal the sai would always beat the bo because it’s a more sophisticated weapon. Not sure I agree with that but was something interesting to think about. Interested to know your thinking about that comment.

Generally weapons with more reach have a great advantage over shorter weapons. I would recommend buying sparring gear for weapons. Fencing helmers, hockey gloves, body armour etc.
