i thought mandocello for a long time - researched it a bit, and I believe it is an octave mandolin. I have no doubt that she can probably make just about anything with strings sound good, but that appears to have been her main instrument for a few years now.

Pretty sure it is an octave mando. I have always wondered how hard it would be play one? It would be strung same notewise as a regular mando. You would probably have to change your approach a bit though due to the size scale and string spacing differences.

It's an octave mandolin not a madocello they're two different things

@@flyshopbumtv7273 No, sorry. An octave mandolin is larger than a mandolin but smaller than a mandocello. The mandocello is guitar-sized, and that's what she was playing.
