Yes, this is a full-throated and flexible band which gives great performances. One beautiful thing is, like with all great bands, the individuals, like Haruka Kikuchi on trombone, gives superb acknowledgements to her fellows. What a sweet display!

There is that look … a universal look that good jazz musicians have when they are not playing and very satisfied with the tune as the other musicians play. A calm … Zen-like. The clarinetist has that look in the video at 3:00. So good. The tune is tight, with a subtle spirit that takes us back to Buddy Bolden and beyond. Thank you! ⛩☯️

This is so cool. Trad jazz is being kept alive and well in Japan and on top of that, it's trad jazz in trad clothes. Love those kimonos and the pianist in his gent's equivalent. Just seems so appropriate

I think it supports what others have said about the band leader that the two female soloists and apparently the piano player are in kimonos (formal) while the leader is very casual. Someone is being disrespected.

Hauka lives and plays in New Orleans, Tamura lives and plays with her own band, P Time Selection in Japan. She did visit New Orleans, see the video: "Clarinet Marmalade, Shotgun Jazz Band with Makiko Tamura" here on You Tube, posted October 2017.
