I love your videos and watch and enjoy them all! BUT this stealth camping that you do scares me to death. It’s such a wacky world out there and that person checking up on you last night could of been any lunatic. Please be careful! I know you’re probably going to keep doing it anyway, so I’m just going to watch you when you’re hiking and camping on trails - anything but stealth camping. 😂

Open field with no tree cover, signs of people hanging out previously, bright green tent higher than knee height all make for not a favorable stealth location. You can't count on hiding in plain sight and must assume if your in sight you will be seen. Steve will mentor you.

@@hikingdancer yes I realize that but I was just mentioning some of the factors that can get you found. You might try a military camo bivy if you get into stealthing. An ICS has a blackout feature That will allow you to use as much light as you want inside the tent. Be safe.

Wow, I'm so surprised to see you eating food in a tent. I've always read not too because even residue or the lingering smell of food will have raccoons/mice biting through the tent to try and reach the food. Have you had any problems with those types of creatures biting/tearing your tent?

@@hikingdancerCan't really help you in that regard other than to suggest three English KZbin channels who have used them. These are WildBeare (Claire), EnglishWoodsman (Dan), and TAOutdoors. Claire used a sort of autumn-coloured one on a tarp she bivvued under, whereas Dan used his to hide the outline of his tent both of which were a sort of woodland green. You say people are in their heads, but since 9/11 and since the recent anniversary, people are much more aware of their surroundings. I’m a truck driver and I make mental notes of license plates and color and makes of cars I see that seem out of place. Remember, it was a truck driver that saw the car that police were looking for and parked next to it blocking it in years ago. It was the guys who were shooting random people in Walmart and Home Depot parking lots. I worry about you doing this stuff alone. Can’t you team up with someone?
@hikingdancer

I would love to team up with someone, but I’m in a Florida lol, people don’t want to tent in muggy weather. And you are right about being aware more, but have you looked at teenagers lately? They walk around like zombies…always looking at the phone.

What kind of pack are you lugging around on this trip? You lost me with the "hotter than you know what." I'm not sure what "you know what" is. Interesting video. Ah, the issues of wild camping and the 'fear' of who will come and ask you to move on. That's all we get in England, as we have no right to pitch a tent pretty much everywhere. We pitch anyway :). I've never been asked to move on in 10yrs of wild camping. Those ants will find a way to get in your tent and backpack. That train is the prison escape train. I have an issue with even on trail people are so focused on the music they are listening to or the video they are shooting they do not notice their surroundings. They do not see the deer, the bear, the wild hogs, chipmunks, squirrels or other animals. Wonder if that retention pond has any alligators 😱 you need to contact Steve and see if he will stealth camp with you. Steve lost his mother recently. 🥾🥾🥾
