11:59 I’m a paramedic currently sitting in an ambulance watching this at 5 in the morning, toward the end of my night shift. Your videos are calming, they really help break the chaos of working as a first responder. Thanks for the shoutout. “Remember that it is a privilege, not a right, to be there for someone who is experiencing perhaps the worst moment of their life.”
@Mac_Omegaly Жыл бұрын
I used to live near an ambulance hub, (Depot?) every time I heard the sirens I said a prayer for them. Basically asking God to protect the workers, and to give them skill, and traveling mercies to arrive at the scene and hospital safely. And of course for the one/s who needed the urgent aid that they would be able to get the help and care that was needed. Now I live closer to the hospital because of my medical needs, but still hear them in the distance. Recently I have been blessed and owe my life to an ambulance team that I have no idea who they were or what they looked like when getting hit with acute adrenal failure. I couldn't see even with my eyes open and they had to hassle me to respond in the smallest way. It was only a 2 mile ride, but they got me into the ER all prepped and ready to get emergency medicine pumped right in, on time. I was able to walk away from the hospital 6 days later with no permanent damage. So thank you very much for your hard work, and I hope that you know that you are loved. Statistically it's impossible to save everyone, but you do so much good for the many people you are able to save and help. You and your co-workers are a blessing to others in need. May you enjoy rest and relaxation on your down time, and be able to take care of yourself.

Hey Steve! Thanks for the shout-out to first responders. I'm a 911 dispatcher and love to watch your videos during downtime on night shift. My whole job consists of listening to people in their worst moments (relatives dying, witnessing cardiac arrests and giving them cpr instructions, drug overdoses, car accidents, domestic violence, shootings, etc.). But we also take a lot of abuse. When someone doesn't do their job correctly, we get cussed out and abused. We get tons of prank calls. We get treated like scum by police officers, EMS, and fire fighters. I've been doing this for 7 years and the world is getting worse and worse every day. I've been depressed lately, but videos like yours make my day just a little bit better. I hope you're doing better today!

Your explanation of the learning curve is spot on! Every new camper or even army recruit packs so much stuff, that they end up not really enjoying a lot of it, because they end up exhausted and having to search that seemingly bottomless backpack. Over time you learn to pack a bare minimum, which will you through 99% of situations. My list for roughly a week: - Sleeping bag (non-compressed because it's connected to a bivi) - Sleeping mat (Very light, just meant as a water barrier) - Underwear - Socks (extras) - Tarp - 15m paracord This is it really... I've slept like a baby through hurricane weather with that kit. I live in a temperate climate, it's wet constantly... But the bivi is optional, it's just an easy solution to the water problem - saves me time and allows me to stay dry on lower ground. But to each their own, some pack like mules - which is fine, we all enjoy different things.

You give me hope. It's hard to describe how your content effects me. Your strength during unbelievable pain is beyond amazing... I would love to have a step two with you if our paths ever cross. Cheers to you!
I had a crappy day today. So crappy, I forgot it was Thursday. But it is Thursday, and that means a video from Steve! That always makes things better! Thanks for the video, bud! 😊

Steve, I rarely ever leave youtube comments but that dialog you provided on the "Arc" of gear (Starting small, buying big, then consolidating to exactly what you need). Is so accurate! Never heard it summarized so well but this happens for so many things, it's really a sign of mastery when you get to the point where you realize you don't need every tool and it's more about your own skillset and utilizing what you need the most. Well said, thanks for your great videos!

This brought back memories of the roundabout...stellar spot, Steve. It tickles me no end how your enthusiasm for finding the right degree of stealth is so contagious to your loyal audience. Salud!

Actually can't get over how much joy these videos bring to my day. As somebody who has a weird quirk for these little spots of seclusion you find in the vast miles of trees, and forestry, it almost takes me back to a child like state of comfort,, knowing nothing else matters outside of the spot your camping in and the nature that envelops you. Again thank you Steve, you bring so much peace and calm that this world needs more of so badly, I know your wife is beyond proud of your right now!

The best part is that if cops show up to shoo you away from the *welcome sign,* they can't do so without situational comedy. ☝️😏

Steve, I think I speak for a lot of people when I say that there is something so wonderful about some of these stealth camping episodes, like the sign ones or the roundabout ones. I guess it just brings out our inner child-what child never imagined hiding out in one of these places and having some adventures? Thanks so much for bringing these good feelings to so many people.

Steve just know we watch these videos for you, not just for the 'crazy' and 'risky' content. You have such a positive perspective, and you are clearly so very empathic, to the point where you refuse to push your merch like 99% of youtubers because you don't want to pressure anyone. That's why I think "Camping with Steve" is such a fitting title for this series, because it's almost just like hanging out with a good friend that you know you would never steer you wrong. Wishing you all the best man!

Steve! You're spot on about gear. As a music producer, over 16 years, I went from absolutely bare bones essentials all the way to my own studio room with acoustic paneling, custom desk, speaker setup, etc... Now? I'm back to the bare bones. I didn't need all that extra stuff. It's almost like you get it to be taken seriously -- to show you belong. Then, you realize it is just getting in the way! Loving the videos. You're always such a fun watch. Best of luck!

@@BlackholeBlackness that’s awesome. I think it helps with the grieving process that loved ones have to go through. My friend lost her husband and he was a fun man so he leaves dimes and pennies she gets a giggle from it. Sometimes he does it when we are out on an adventure day and we always smile. Thank you for sharing with me.

Steve, appreciate the first responder shout-out! I know you're not always pleased to see the police, but trust me when I say the vast majority would have no concern with your adventures! too many other problems to deal with these days than to bother a man enjoying a hobby and sharing it with others. Keep doing what you do Steve!
