Born Fulton Allen in 1907 in Wadesboro, North Carolina, Blind Boy Fuller became known for his skilled guitar playing and expressive vocals.
"Somebody's Been Playin' with That Thing" was first recorded on June 19, 1938. This recording session took place in Chicago, Illinois, marking its initial release during Fuller's active recording career in the late 1930s. The song was part of his repertoire that contributed significantly to the development of Piedmont blues and early blues music in general.
