I'm not sure if you just found this picture online when looking for dead mall pictures or if you live in Hutchinson and had taken this picture, but that is the Hutchinson Mall. The store front in the left side corner used to be Zale's Jewelers and the store front off to the right side used to be Pretzels N More, which closed in 2015, if I remember correctly. The storefront all the way to the back where it looks dark, used to be JC Penney's and it closed in 2017 or 2018. Even though this mall looks completely dead and abandoned from this picture, it's actually in the process of revitalization. What used to be JC Penney's is now an Ollie's and a Vintage Market that divided the space into two different store fronts. Off the the left side where Zale's Jewelers was, is a Dunham Sports at the end of the wing, which occupies the space where Sears used to be, and off to the right side where Pretzels N More used to be is a TJ Maxx, Ulta Beauty, Dollar Tree and Harbor Freight Tools, which all occupy the former Dillard's space. Then just behind the camera is the half of the mall that's not dead. This picture was taken sometime after JC Penney left and sometime before 2020 by the looks of it. I was not expecting to see a picture of the Hutchinson Mall pop up in my recommended.

Unfortunately I'm not from the area, I just found it while looking around like you said lol. The source of the photo is in the description, actually It's kinda surreal to hear from someone who've actually been to places in pictures like this, because you see hundereds of these stange, familiar photos around the internet, usually without any context. *You're the last one to leave from the bathroom, not knowing that the fact everyone is gone, the time has passed to a point where the mall needs to be closed and be opened tomorrow. No security were present at the time, and yet the lights weren't turned off, you seek for help, yelling over and over again the same words "Hello?! is anybody there?!", expecting for a security to come out and help you but, nothing, no useful results came out. As the time passes, you freely walk around in the so said mall with the fear of being watched, slowly the more you walk, the deeper you get into the point... two minutes later, all of a sudden, this song randomly pops out, as you get scared of it, you take a look around with a scared face as you think that somebody is really watching you through the security cameras, but the thing is, that's not true, you're completely alone, and the song... remains as a mystery.*

Imagine you are in the middle of the mall, locked in for the night. **let’s imagine it’s like midnight** and you see a shadow run past your view. A few seconds later, this starts playing. What’s terrifying, is that you are all alone in that mall. No one else is there but you. No living thing is there. Not even an animatronic, or animal. Just *you.* you run up the mall escalators, and hear footsteps trodding up behind you. You run to the nearest diner, and hide behind a booth. You can hear the footsteps slowly coming closer until.. it stopped. You looked up.. and the last thing you can remember before you ‘passed out’ was the terrifying grin of ‘him’ stretching from ear to ear, with the inside of his mouth and his crooked teeth clearly visible.

Love seeing stuff like this. Its makes you think of the unknown. From people there your safety isn’t questionable as it doesn’t become a though that crosses your head, remove the human factor and you fear that which could be there. I live in the United Kingdom and where i live, in the town theres a shopping Center that is built on a graveyard…and sightings by guards are very common. Videos like these are excellent and make me think of that Center and many places like it. When you ask people why they fear a mall or shopping centre after hours alone, they can’t exactly explain why the unease but they indeed fear it. Carry on the good work DP Squid.

It's the Summer of June 16th 1989 when you get to see through the eyes of 19 yr old Rebecca Howard and horrible nightmare she could could have never dreamed of. Rebecca was a student enrolled at St. Richmond high school West Virginia Where she dreams of taking fiance courses to be a Successful Businesswoman like her Rich & successful uncle who she looks up to one day, While living with her 7yr Brother Charlie who's Autistic and gets extremely bullied at school because of it and Rebecca's Mother Katherine who know about Rebecca's dream wants to give her that and so works at the grocery store and has 2 part time jobs to make as money get Rebecca into college. One day at her job working as pizza delivery, talks to Simon one of the employees that work with her who likes Rebecca and one of her best friends along with Claire, their Manager who they call "Red", and Lee who just across the street at a Game store Who secretly likes her A LOT too but doesn't have the courage to ask her out. On June 16th 1989 Lee finally gathered up months of courage to ask out the girl he's been watching for months taking notes, watching her every move from her job to her home and justifies it with "So I can know more about her" he thought while getting dressed for prom. And so after Rebecca is done working Lee walks up to And so hours later "H-Hey Rebecca!" "Oh hey what's up?" She replied "O-Oh I just wanted to ask you if you wanted to go out for P-Prom! Will you please accept me?" "Oh I'm sorry already going with Simon" She replied. When Lee heard those words his world completely fell apart as he went from Lovestruck to Jealousy and was angry with this and said "B-But why him?!" Lee yelled Rebecca replied "Well I think he's just good guy" Discontent with this he ran off crying while thinking about how after all this time while studying her and watching her wondering how this could have had happened Simon never existed and so an extremely jealous Lee stomped off into the night "I'm I'M the best guy in your Life! I know and love you more than Simon EVER WILL" he thought as his feelings became hatred and jealousy. Later on Katherine Calls Rebecca "Hey Beck could please go to the mall with your brother and get him some new school clothes and groceries?" "But mom I have pr- "I got a little busy so I new couldn't do it so I left some money on the kitchen table Love ya Smooches" - Line ended "Oh come why on PROM?! and do I really have to bring him?" As She muttered under her breath while her brother was standing around corner listening. As Rebecca was told she took her brother to Hudson Center Mall While Driving to the mall Late at night having to buy clothes and groceries Lee was following behind. Rebecca and Charlie make it to the mall and have to hurry since it's 11:38 and the Mall's gonna close soon and so as they managed to get groceries and clothes, the Mall was minutes away from closing as they found an exit Charlie had peed himself since he's been holding it the whole time and so Rebecca who doesn't want to clean up pee in the car finds a nearby bathroom and tells him to go change in the public bathrooms and an embarrassed little Charlie does. While standing near the bathroom for 10 minutes waiting for him to come out. Rebecca urges Charlie to "hurry up the Mall's gonna close plus it's starting to get cold in here" as Rebecca looks around for anyone she sees how empty and dead (like manly's soul) the Mall is but sees a dark figure hanging by vending machine but it runs off once it Sees she saw it. Rebecca takes a breather and goes into the men's bathroom and yells for Charlie while looking in the stalls panicking since she can't find him but then finds a note on one of the stalls that reads "Was I not good enough?" With Charlie's doll he always takes with him underneath the stall. Scared she runs out and sees the Mall has been fully shut down and goes into panic running around the mall for about an hour looking for her brother. While looking around and having this uneasy feeling that someone is watching her and has had this feeling a while "CHARLIE! CHARLIE?! WHERE ARE YOU?!" Her voice as it echoes through the vast and seemingly giant Mall as she looks for Charlie. The endless darkness inside infinite amount of closed stores battling the neverending brightness radiating off the pure white fluorescent lights having to walk between them while feeling like she's being watched and that's when suddenly "Somebody's watching Me" by Rockfell starts playing and sees a dark figure starts staring at her from across the hall I'll be listening to any feedback and if there's any errors or something you think I should change I'll gladly do it Thanks for listening.
