Jon, as a landscape enthusiast, go to your local landscape supply. They have all this stuff in bulk and deliver it for much cheaper per volume. Have them bring you dump truck loads of sand, pea gravel, river stones, and even large stones. Then you can really make a sick floor for the Bass Factory!

Well, your pond brought to mind an old trick I remember reading in Field and Stream in the early 70's for growing huge fish. Make wooden tripod tied together at the top with about a foot or so of poles above the tie point. It should be long enough that it sticks a few feet above the surface of the pond. Take a wire basket and place it in the top of the tripod. Take meat or fish pieces you might throw away and put them in a plastic bag, in which you poke several large holes. Place the bag in the wire basket atop the tripod. Flies will lay eggs in the meat scraps, and the resulting maggots will eventually crawl out of the bag, fall through the holes in the wire basket and into the water and feed the fish.
