The Breckers and Co. were creating a whole new vibe in the late 70s early 80s. So inspiring and such a joy to witness.

Randy is killin' it here. Very tasty. All that Caruso chop work was paying off!

Michaels timing is UNBELIVIBLE!! Not one note that’s not ”locked in” the rythm, no matter how fast he’s playing! I can’t find ANY other saxplayer that can or could do it, living or dead. RIP Michael.

@@MarkTarmannPianoCheck_it_out haha cheers Mark - I had to reply to the monkey8 as they are just stunned someone might have a different opinion. LOL Like obviously these guys can play all day - but it's the arrangement / direction that counts !

Knowing there was a time that Mike Brecker missed altissimo notes gives me hope.

Love all of it, but that vibe solo is underrated. Especially after he ditched his 4th mallet at 10:30 and finished it out with 3.

THIS SOLO OF BRECKER IS.............................................
@LeifWikfeldt11 жыл бұрын
The first part of Mike's solo is the one you remember since it's the lp version. The extended part is great and very creative in places, but he still looks a bit uncomfortable (after the solo the says something to Randy), not quite sure how far to take it, and instead going back to more standard phrases. Nice solo from Randy
