It probably helps that Jim was never reduced to catchphrases and the like. His pranks arguably got more absurd as the series went on but he remained a fairly dynamic character with plenty of iconic moments. Am I the only one to appreciate this series was produced WITHOUT canned laughter???
@sunshine39144 жыл бұрын
People have come to expect it. I find it insulting, & not able to make it through 5 minutes.
@capnheehee81034 жыл бұрын
Most of the more recent shows produced in the last 20 years in which you can hear laughter, really are filmed in front of a live studio audience (that's why the shows went through the trouble of saying so at the beginning of each episode). The laugh-track stuff was more of a 1960s-1980s(early 1980s) thing, and I guess later a stupid kids show Disney Channel or Nickelodeon thing, but mainstream TV more or less abandoned the canned laughter some time ago. The problem is, so many people naturally got to assuming if they could hear ANY laughter, it MUST be fake, because that's all they've ever been told, so it's a technique that's died out. The Office was never an appropriate show for that kind of vibe anyway (it would never have suited the awkward cringe-humor thing, silence was crucial for that) ... but audible laughter is not completely without value depending on what the show is like, it's not an immediate "well, this show is just doo-doo because I can hear it" thing. I can't imagine some British comedies without it. I once got into a giant argument on the Internet because one stubborn person wouldn't believe me when I kept telling them that 3rd Rock from the Sun featured REAL laughter from a REAL audience actually laughing at the jokes you hear them laughing at. No matter how much documentation I could provide to prove it, they wouldn't even entertain the idea -- if they could hear laughter at all, to them, it came from a laugh track, and it was the only reality they would accept.

How cool would it be if the old writers wrote a short Covid-19 plot for the cast and they could play their characters on a quarantine call. Clueless Michael taking charge, Dwight having his back, etc. Know virus is serious, but writers could pull it off tastefully and bring some needed laughs.

@jtrobins14 жыл бұрын
A journalist could dislike the video because it's not a real interview. It's just two friends talking, with the guy who is supposed to be the host talking more than the guest. That is how someone could dislike it; from a journalistic point of view. From a fan 's point of view, it is enjoyable.
